Wow, so no one thought anything of Clark Edison just showing up and seemingly kmnowing what happened to Brennan without anyone calling him in to the Jeffersonian??? They made a point to state that during the episode. Maybe the guy is working with Pelant, maybe he was working with the artifact thieves? Something is up though.

I dont like emotional stuff specially this week.

I really enjoyed the episode. It seemed to me to be another milestone of what I usually call "The Re-Humanization of Temperance Brennan." The fact that she unbent enough to even consider the possibility that her dream was real was a big step for the character.
I also liked that Booth actually listened to the advice of his friends and didn't try to take over the investigation. He did have his outburst moment, but it was nice to see that he was smart enough to let the others do the investigating.

Ugh Sparling?? Please there is a high school somewhere waiting for her to enrole. Really poor character, with a really weak actress. imo ..GREAT EPISODE though bar her and the yet again useless Sweets. LOVED the love between Booth and Brennan. It really touched me. As did the Booth and Cam hug scene and Brennnan bonding with Max.

I adored this ep. It give me a lot to think about with regards to Brennan: past, present and future. .In no way do I think that Brennan is going to drastically change overnight, but it has given her a kick up the butt to start living life a little, stop and smell the flowers without spouting about the every last detail on them, hiding behind her books...She was stifling, controlling her happiness, her families happiness, now she can be more free with it. That's what I got from her mom encounter....Booth is the man. We all need a Seeley Booth in our life!!! Seriously. I love Booth. I love the love that seeps out of his every pore for Brennan, for Christine and their family. Plus Booth kicks ass.!!!!

@maggie EXACTLY!!! Brennan isn't going to change overnight. Who would think that? I mean c'mon she is still a scientist at heart regardless of this experience....I totally got that her mom was trying to get Brennan to live a little, don't be such a control freak over your life, relax, enjoy the sunshine on your face, wing it a little, do silly things and most importantly don't let life pass you by....oh and go on a freaking vacation with your hot man and adorable cos it would f.u.n!!!.

The love that Booth and Brennan have shone through for each other. I loved Booth. I love Brennan. I loved B&B in every single scene. I did and all the OTT picking over every little thing aint going to change that for me. :p

Now that I think about it, I've seen signs that the writers are losing their touch ever since Booth and Bones became a real couple. It seems that they don't really know what to do with those two after they put together. They now lack the whole "we say we're not a couple but everybody knows we're lying" and finding ways to make that interesting and funny. Now they make them act like a cliched stereotypical couple that the writers stick into as many "these two REALLY love each other" lovely dovey scenes they possibly can instead of treating them like a real couple.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. This was a decent enough episode I suppose, but I've come to expect far better than just decent from Bones and any show I like in general for that matter.

After that "have an entire episode from the perspective of the victim's skull for no reason" episode, things haven't been quite the same. The writers have been throwing earlier characterization and already established canon of the show out the window constantly the last few episodes in order to create drama, a sign that the writers are running out of worthwhile ideas. This is something that they have largely avoided doing since the show started. Bones would NEVER believe a near death experience is anything other than a dream, even for a moment. Bones would also never say something as stupid as "civilization is based upon rational thought" as an antropologist she knows damn that's not true. All we can do is hope is that the show will return to form soon, or it's going to die.

Ye of little faith. I agree that it wasn't a stellar episode especially since, aside from the "floater" episodes, this season has been so solid. But don't you think you are jumping to conclusions thinking that she is going to change over night? You are talking about someone basically changing who they are. Those are some tough habits to break regardless if your revelation was seeing your dead mom. It was all a bit too much but I don't see her completely changing. I think her mom was just telling her to open up a bit more. It wasn't like she was telling her to become a emotional free spirit.
Thats how I saw it. But who knows. I could be wrong.

A clubhouse couldn't hold all the people who think this season is disjointed and subpar. But we all belong to the same club: What happened to Bones?
Her mother's last words having such an impact on her, well, I can believe it. I know my mum's last words have stayed with and haunted me. I just wish that reveal hadn't been in such a contrived situation. I think they decided to push Bones' character development, trying to write her into wanting to get married, but this just seems odd. And what was with Cam in the OR?
I don't blame Booth for the fight either. I just think they have both grown so much that they'd have tried to settle it more maturely than Bones storming out. Oh, and Bones, civilization is not based on a great deal of rational thought.

This was some extremely poor character development for Bomes. The writers take 7+ seasons worth of Bones being a atheist and rationalist and throw it out the window. Using a Deus Ex plot twist in a show is always a poor excuse for doing actual writing.

@Serenity--I agree with that completely. Their fight was relevant until she walked out the door, which isn't something Brennan would have done, I think. Of course he's occasionally (or often) irritated by her hyper-rational personality, so seeing that was sort of refreshing. But seeing it used as a plot device made the argument feel stupid.

This episode....while interesting was kind of eh. I don't blame Booth for getting upset at the beginning of the episode. Brennan has come a long way but she still has a way of shooting down people's ideas/plans/wants based solely on scientific evidence.

I have to agree with the reviewer. I really enjoy this show but this season has been so clunky.. extra episodes from season 7, the outrageous scenes witht he kids from last episode, the ridiculous dialog cam had with the doctor, and now this episode, it just seems like they used this season to put as much product placement and random story ideas they had in motion just because.. frankly the only thing I'm looking forward to is more of the Pelant story, and hopes that this isn't a permanent decline for Bones. Do not worry, dear reviewer, you are not alone. Not as far as I'm concerned, at least.
