This was a great episode. But, I have to agree that Castle's gift to Kate seemed ordinary. Yes, the earrings were lovely, but Castle has done so much better in the past with his choices. Kate's gift of a drawer represents her "diving in" and opening her heart and her home to this man. There were many fun moments.

On the gifts thing: Castle has been notoriously thoughtful with Beckett gifts: her dad's watch, her mother's scholarship fund benefit, the Temptation Lane thing and this year he skips Xmas and goes for Valentine's Day earrings? They are nice and all, I guess for me it is a little unlike him given what we know about how he does things.
Castle: You guys get this a lot? Agent J…Agent K?
