Sorry, criminals of Las Vegas. You won't be getting away with very much for the next year or so.

CBS announced today that it has renewed CSI for a 14th season, while also confirming that Ted Danson has signed a new contract to remain as lead investigator.

He will be joined in 2013-2014 by Elisabeth Shue and original cast members George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Paul Guilfoyle and Robert David Hall.

Arriving At a Grave Site

“The writers and producers have done an amazing job evolving CSI, reinventing the show around an incredible leading man in Ted Danson, the acclaimed Elisabeth Shue and our beloved and talented core of original cast members,” CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler said in a statement.

For the season to date, CSI remains number-one in overall viewers for Wednesday nights at 10 p.m.

It airs an episode tonight based around a deadly high school reunion and you can read all about it via this exclusive interview with David Berman.

I like the new Crime Scene Investigation with Ted Danson and Elizabeth Shue they both work together on this program really well I can't wait until season 14 of this series because they left you guessing about what is going to happen to Morgan I wonder what will happen when it returns so it should be good

Good news to me. I too miss Grissom, but Ted Danson is very watchable. I had never seen Elizabeth Shue before she showed up here, and I find her character confusing at times, but as it is an ensemble cast, that's OK. It is more realistic than a lot of other shows have been, too, because in real life, people are coming and going most of the time from jobs. One does not work with precisely the same people for twelve years... Going away and coming back is also realistic -- I have done that myself, as has another former co-worker of mine. So Jorja Fox's character makes sense to me. Grissom leaving her does not, though.

Do not like Elizabeth Shue on this show at all. Watched last night's episode (3/20/2013) to see if I could stand her better ... nope, but also thought so many of old cast look old and out of shape (to put it kindly). Danson was a great addition (and has hopefully run out of family to be accused of crimes or kidnapped), but can't imagine how show can continue???
