Jorja Fox: Remaining on CSI

It looks like the long distance marriage between Grissom and Sara on CSI is going quite well.

Producer Carol Mendelsohn has confirmed that Jorja Fox's character will remain on the CBS hit beyond her initial five episode commitment. In fact, there are no plans to say goodbye to her any time soon.

“We will be seeing a lot more of Jorja,” Mendelsohn told Entertainment Weekly. “The season is about bringing the [CSI] family back together again, so [this] was just a natural. Jorja has been the glue that has really helped to reform the bond of our team.”

Welcome Back!

There are no plans to bring Grissom back this season, and the precise number of episodes for Fox is still up in the air, but Mendelsohn is confident enough to say:

“From our point of view, the more the bette. As many episodes as we can have Jorja for we want her for.”

Sara Sidle: Married on CSI!

Jorja Fox reprises her role as Sara Sidle on CSI this week.

But that's not all. TV Guide spoke to star Marg Helgenberger and she confirmed that Sara and Gil are now married.

"I think she's struggling a little bit with being a housewife," Helgenberger said, detailing why Mrs. Grissom returns to the team. "She comes [to help us] from Paris, where her husband is giving some kind of a lecture series."

CSI returns for its 10th season on Thursday night.

First Look: Jorja Fox Returns to CSI

The CSI cat was let out of the spoiler bag weeks ago:

Jorja Fox will reprise her role as Sara Sidle for at least five episodes this fall.

CBS has released a few photos from the drama's September 24 premiere. Below, get your first look at Sidle back on the scene, including her introduction to the new man in charge, Dr. Raymond Langston:

Meeting Langston

Return of Jorja FoxWelcome Back!

Raymond Langston: Heading to Miami and New York!

We hope you like Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Raymond Langston on CSI.

Because fans of this franchise are about to see a lot of him!

It's been confirmed to TV Guide Magazine that the actor will be working overtime this fall: his character will cross over to both CSI: Miami and CSI: NY during November sweeps, with that week's storyline starting on Monday in Miami, continuing on Wednesday in New York and wrapping up the following night in Las Vegas.

Professor Ray Langston

This is the first time a crossover will involve all three of the CBS procedurals.

Consider it part of the sea of changes the network has said is in store for Fishburne and CSI this season.

Coming to CSI: A Makeover

CSI is still one of the top-rated shows on TV.

But even the President of CBS Entertainment admitted this week that the series suffered through a rocky season last year.

"It wasn't just about losing [William Petersen]. That show went through monumental changes last season," said Nina Tassler at the Television Critics Association press tour.

Those changes included the departures of series veterans Jorja Fox (who wil return this fall) and Gary Dourdan; and the arrival of Laurence Fishburne's Dr. Raymond Langston.

The drama tried to bring Langston into the team slowly. Big mistake.

"The challenge was to introduce [Fishburne] in a gradual way... so he earns a position of power," Tassler said. "[But] fans wanted to see him in a take-charge capacity."

That will take place this season for sure, the executive promised. She also said Langston would receive a makeover:

"Our research says fans love him and respect him, but that they just want to see him more comfortable in his clothes."

Among other changes, at least one other character will enjoy a different role: "Catherine is going to promote Nick [this season]," Tassler said, referring to George Eads' character.

CSI returns on September 24.

Jorja Fox Previews Return to CSI

It's no longer a secret: Jorja Fox is reprising the role of Sara Sidle on CSI for at least five episodes this season.

In a new interview with TV Guide Magazine, the actress speaks on what brought her back to the show and how Sara's storyline will play out. Here are a couple excerpts:

On what prompted her return: Around March, I felt really rested and was itching to work. When I was in Atlanta [filming a guest shot on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva], I got the call about CSI.... That was a surprise, so I’m going back to work and it’s with the same people who I’ve worked with for eight years in the past. I was thrilled!

On why Sara is coming back: I think all I can really say is the team has had a rough year - there has been a lot going on - and so Sara comes back mostly just to see if she can help for a while, because she loves those guys and she misses them.

As previously reported, the departure of Lauren Lee Smith as Riley Adams will also help open the door for Sara's addition to the team.

Lauren Lee Smith: Leaving CSI

As one star returns to CSI, another is leaving the lab.

Producer Naren Shankar told TV Guide Magazine that Lauren Lee Smith won't return as the character of Riley Adams in the fall.

“She’s not going to be back for Season 10,” he said. “It was an issue of how we were feeling the ensemble was working. When we brought in the character of Riley, it got lost in the shuffle a little bit because we had lost Warrick, we had lost Sara, and then in the middle of last season Grissom finally left. I think, as a result, the character never quite found its footing in terms of the rest of the gang.”

As the result of Riley's exit, a slot will be open for Sara Sidle (Fox), who is now ready to return to work after her burnout in season eight.

“She shows up because the team is understaffed,” said Shankar. “The undersheriff reaches out for a recommendation and Sara says, ‘I think that person might be me.’”

Sidle will appear on at least five episodes, and Shankar assures fans that the character wll be featured prominently during this time.

CSI to Welcome Back Millander Clan Members

We already know that Jorja Fox will appear on the new season of CSI.

What show spoilers could possibly top that news?

According to executive producer Carol Mendelsohn, who spoke to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, CSI will be bringing back members of the dangerous Millander clan in episode two.

"The last time we saw [serial killer] Paul Millander was in season 2 when Grissom had dinner at [his alter ego] Judge Mason's house, because, if you remember Paul lived a double life as a judge," she said. "And we met Mrs. Mason and their young son, Craig. Well, Paul's dead, but Mrs. Mason and Craig live on. And we will see them in episode 2."

Dr. Raymond Langston

As for upcoming CSI storylines:

  • Viewers will receive an explanation for the ring Langston has on his finger;
  • There will be a new, season-long serial killer arc.

Jorja Fox: Returning to CSI

Jorja Fox left CSI at the end of 2007-08 season.

But fans of this wildly-popular drama can look forward to the reemergence of Sara Sidle this fall.

Multiple sources confirm that Fox will appear in the Season 10 premiere, along with a few additional episodes.

Jorja Fox

"We're thrilled for Jorja's return," CSI executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told The Associated Press, adding that viewers will "discover where life has taken Sara Sidle and what brings her back to the CSI team in Las Vegas."

CSI returns to the air on September 24.

CSI Spoiler Pics from Season Finale

The ninth season finale of CSI airs on Thursday, May 14.

As previously reported, the episode "All In" will throw Langston into the kind of field operation to which he's unaccustomed.

Look for Cynthia Watros, best known as tail-end survivor Libby on Lost, to guest star on the installment, which centers around a series of murders related to missing poker chips.
