FX Renews Justified for Season 5, Sets Series Return Calendar

by at .

Days prior to the Justified Season 4 finale, FX has given fans of this outstanding drama a reason to celebrate:

It has been renewed for a fifth season.

The network broke the news at its annual upfront presentation this morning in New York, one of several major announcements coming out of the event, including that its spinoff network - FXX - will debut on September 2.

Old Friends, Constant Enemies

Producer Graham Yost has said he hopes Justified can run for six seasons.

And, based on its quality and its ratings, there seems to be little doubt that the series will reach that mark... and then some, if those involved wish to continue.

Justified Season 5, meanwhile, will kick off in January, while FX also announced:

  • The Americans Season 2 will also premiere in January.
  • Sons of Anarchy Season 6 will premiere in September 2014.
  • Diane Kruger's The Bridge will premiere in July.
  • American Horror Story: Coven will premiere in October.
  • FXX will premiere a TV series based on Fargo in 2014. It will be produced by the Coen brothers.
