Cote de Pablo Reacts to Powerful NCIS Episode, Teases What's Next

by at . Comments

After an NCIS episode that brought us some of their best moments together yet (see our NCIS review), Tony and Ziva were sideswiped by a black vehicle and the agents' status remains unknown.

Also, Ilan Bodnar is still in the wind, and Mossad's new director is as complex as they come.

Will Tony and Ziva survive? Cote de Pablo coyly tells EW, “We are one step closer to the killer who took away Eli David and Jackie Vance, so I think the audience wants some sort of resolution.”

“I don’t know if we’re going to get to the actual unfolding of it completely [by the end of the season].”

There are plenty more shocking moments on the way, she said of the current and complex story arc, including a few between Tony and Ziva, for whom she teased some “messy” times ahead.

Last night, of course, was anything but.

While de Pablo remains reluctant to define the pair’s "complex" relationship too clearly, she loved the fact that the episode gave the duo a chance to reveal different sides of themselves to one another.

“There is a level of vulnerability that’s being shared. We usually see the woman from Ziva and the boy from Tony, and here we see the little girl in Ziva and the man from Tony," she adds.

The actress calls the dance scene one of her favorites: “Michael (Weatherly) and I crafted that scene. We felt the moment was very intimate, and we thought that just looking at each other was enough."

"The director kept saying, ‘No, I want the moment to be longer,’ and we had to sort of fight the director."

"Finally, I had to say, ‘Listen, if there was any more time of staring into each other’s eyes, it would be like, cut to a hotel room' ... so finding the length of the moment became a topic.”

"We certainly enjoyed it. I told [Michael] - without really realizing what I was saying and then I realized it came out the wrong way - I said, ‘God, I felt a little drunk when I was staring at you.’”

Cote laughs, “I’m not sure if it was because by the end of the day we were both so tired or if it was because it was just such a magical moment.”

@Michael
Oops... Misinterpreted your post there. Delete the first sentence. And replace it with "Why is CdP a dumbass?" The rest of the things I say still stand though.

@Micheal Are you kidding? YOU are the most insulting person on these pages. You call people liars, you take people to task for not supporting your opinion, you make things up to fit your agenda, and you act like you have the inside scoop on all things related to Michael Weatherly. You also like to call everyone sinners for hating EJ and for wanting to see Tony and Ziva naked in bed and having sex. Add to that the terrible comments you have made about Tiva having sex on dead bodies, that Tony being with Ziva would be like rape, Twitter leading to rape and Tony is treated like black people used to be. Do you not comprehend how ignorant your comments are? Have you been a victim of racism? Do you know what it is like to be raped? Do you have any idea how insulting your comments are to people who have been victimized in those ways? Go away Michael and get some professional help. This is way beyond the show NCIS. You need to take sometime for yourself and learn to live in the real world.

Cote dePablo didn't call anyone a dumbass! This! This is the reason. You don't use logic! You make stuff up! You lie! You are derogatory! Sure people make mistakes or say something out of line every now and then, but every single time?! You are allowed to express your opinion, but how can I respect it, if you don't respect anyone?! You think CdP is a horrible nasty person. Well look in the mirror! Sigh... Rant over!

@MCAL
how do people take you seriously when everytime someone said something that you don't like you say something hurtfully does it make you feel like a man to attack me does it? at least I don't say stuff like "Are you seriously that cut off from reality that you can't even realize a joke when you see one" how is calling someone a dumbass a joke? This is why people don't come on these site because of people like you who dont allow us to share our view

@ Michael, what I found funny is that MW also said that he fought with the Director to see "his/their" vision of the scene so what you said for Cote also goes for MW.

Are you seriously that cut off from reality that you can't even realize a joke when you see one. And since when was it morally or legally wrong for an actor/actress to question a director's decision?

@Michael
I sincerely want to become a doctor and study your thought process. You are a fascinating person you know that? I mean wow! How do you come up with this stuff and expect people to take you seriously.

So true no Ziva no more watching NCIS.If she isn't returning let everyone know so I don't have to watch last 3 episodes

@Sara: MW's interview was wildly sarcastic and tongue in cheek. While I don't believe he is a TIVA promoter, I'm sure he wouldn't quit or publicly flame his employers about it. AND the interview was heavily edited, as posted by the interviewer, so any positives he may have said have been conveniently removed.

NCIS Season 10 Episode 21 Quotes

Ziva: When I have a man, the favors I offer have little to do with clothes.
Tony: That's good to know.

Tom Morrow: What are we proposing here?
Vance: Well with international tensions being so high on this, I'm proposing that we look the other way.
Tom Morrow: You can't be serious.
Vance: I am, Tom. We come down hard on Mossad now, then what happens? Talk to me about wasted manpower if Bodnar gets away after all of this? But understand: this one pass is the last one Mossad ever gets from me.
Tom Morrow: That makes two of us.
Gibbs: Three.
