Look out, Deacon. You will have some competition for Rayna on Nashville Season 2.
ABC sources confirm that Oliver Hudson (Rules of Engagement, below) has been cast in a recurring role on the network drama.
The actor will portray a charming, cut-throat businessman who shakes things up in the titular Tennessee town and who will serve as a new love interest for Connie Britton's main character.
Nashville Season 2 kicks off on Wednesday, September 25 and will skip ahead several months after Rayna and Deacon’s car accident that concluded the opening season in May. Look for the former's career to sky-rocket as a result, leaving her as an appealing target for Hudson's label executive.
In other series casting news, Aubrey Peeples will recur on the program as a reality show contestant.
