Rhys Ifans to Trend Down on Showtime

Rhys Ifans is on his way to Showtime.

The actor, who will appear on Elementary Season 2 as Sherlock's brother, has been cast on Showtime's Trending Down, the cable network confirmed today.

The British star will portray Jonathan Clow, the boss of Thom Payne on the upcoming dark comedy, a man facing his own obsolescence after his advertising agency is taken over who will be played by Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Trending Down will also feature Kathryn Hahn and begin production some time this fall for a 2014 premiere date.

Mostly known for his big screen resume, Ifans has starred in such films as The Amazing Spider-Man and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Notting Hill.
