The network announced today that it has pulled the plug on Army Wives, following a seventh season that featured many new cast members.

A two-hour retrospective will air some time in early 2014.

Said Lifetime Executive Vice President and General Manager Rob Sharenow in a statement:

“There is no denying how special Army Wives has been to both Lifetime and the television landscape. By taking on a very relevant and timely issue, it has brilliantly captured the challenges our military families endure and the bravery they and their loved ones display while serving our country…. We also want to thank Army Wives’ passionate legion of fans and everyone involved with the series: ABC Studios, Mark Gordon and Jeff Melvoin, Tanya Biank, every single cast member, as well as the crew and community of Charleston, South Carolina.”

Throughout its run, Army Wives received numerous accolades: two Gracie Awards from the Alliance for Women in Media; a Sentinel for Health Award from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism’s Norman Lear Center; an NAACP Image Award; and a NAMIC Award.

It's a shame. I have watched this show from day one. Army Wives is what I watched when my husband was gone. And roxy and trevors characters what a pin point to our relationship. Met each other and not even a week later we was married. I am disappointed you would cancel something that was watched all over the world. But keep other shows on.that probably does not even come close to army wives. I think you should air another.season!!! Or lose a lot of viewers

By cancelling Army Wives you lost me as a viewer. Dumb move cancelling a good show. I do not watch any of the so called reality show. Have never watched Dance Mom's or Project Runway and never will. I despise reality tv!!

can,t belive that lifetime would cancel the show something that was a good program. a lot OF MEN AND WOMEN something they can relate to.iwish they would bring it back instead of this stupid shows people lifes who cares. thease are people what this familes in real go thourgh in real about drugs and guns go army wifes.

I am very disappointed that you have decided to cancel this series. As a Navy Veteran, I loved the love, dignity and respect shown by the cast in the series. We need more of this in America.

What a shame to cancel a show with class and dignity. Those words seem to say it all. Why don't the "powers" at Lifetime take over TLC and cancel the questionable and embarrassing shows that portray Southerners as less than desirable.

Please reconsider this.. people looked forward to Army wives season. Such a great show

What a shame!!! This was my favorite show and showcased our military as far as their dedication and sacrifice. I will surely miss the show and the characters. Please bring it back!

Its ashamed not only are you counseling the best not one of the best but the best show you have ever aired . It showed a tribute to the men and woman that serve and the wives and husbands and kids that are left here when they do. I looked forward to watching this show i have family in the military and watching this show somehow made me feel a little closer to them when they were gone, I am not surprised however the president takes everything good in this world away from us, so it doesn't surprise me that this show is gone as well. you did not give the viewers an vote the least you can do is let us know when the last airing of the 2 hour show is in advance . you will loose allot of watchers , I am a Business student and if it was my opinion due to the poles and studies I've viewed your network will suffer and it doesn't matter if its a major impact or small one poles show it takes a toll. Please reconsider and bring our show back . A very Disapointed Fan

I really enjoyed watching Army Wives. They had a big mistake I wish they would change their minds!

I really hate that Army Wives has been cancelled. Being a veteran, I can relate to most of the episodes that aired. This show made me laugh, made me cry, and even made me angry at times, but most of all made me proud. I loved how our service men and women were honored by this show. Seeing it cancelled is heartbreaking! Please reconsider!!!!
