Jill Biden to Guest Star on Army Wives

Jill Biden will make her acting debut in August. Sort of.

The wife of Vice President Joe Biden will portray herself in the August 15 episode of Army Wives. Look for her to visit Fort Marshall to kick off “Fun Run,” a event that supports a summer camp for the kids of military families.

Also, Dr. Biden will a public service announcement during the installment. It wil encourage Americans to take part in supporting military families.

Said Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks:

“We are honored to have Dr. Biden make a special appearance on Army Wives. Dr. Biden’s inspiring commitment to military families should be commended, and, as longtime supporters of this cause, Lifetime Networks is proud to be her partner in relaying this message across America.”

In other show news, it was recently confirmed that Gabrielle Union would anchor an upcoming Army Wives spin-off.

Army Wives will concludes its fourth season over the next few weeks.

But fans of this Lifetime series have important casting news to buzz about long after new episodes go off the air: Gabrielle Union has been tapped to star in a long-awaiting spin-off to this dramatic hit.

The Army Wives follow-up will likely debut in 2011 and center around Brigid Brannagh's character of Pamela Moran. She'll reportedly become a detective with the Atlanta police department and her new partner will be a woman named Gina Holt.

Union, last seen on ABC's FlashForward, will portray Holt.

Harry Hamlin to Guest Star on Army Wives

Earlier this month, it was announced that Lisa Rinna had landed a role on Community.

But she won't isn't the only member of her family to nab a major guest-starring spot: husband Harry Hamlin will appear on the June 20 episode of Army Wives.

The veteran actor, who played a character on last summer's Harper's Island, will portray a public advocacy lawyer on this Lifetime drama. He'll lead a case against the Army that pits Claudia Joy and Michael against each other. TV Guide first reported the news.

Ann-Margret to Guest Star on Army Wives

Ann-Margret has booked a role on Army Wives.

The long-time actress will appear on the drama's May 9 episode. She'll portray Michael’s Aunt Edie, shows up unexpectedly on the base to visit her nephew.

Margret guest-starred earlier this year on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Army Wives to Return on April 11

Lifetime has announced the premiere date of season four of Army Wives.

Cable's number-one rated drama among women ages 18-49 will return this spring. Look for it to debut on April 11 at 10 p.m

"Next season of Army Wives promises to be one of its best ever and we are very excited to bring it back to Lifetime's viewers in April," said JoAnn Alfano, Executive Vice President, Entertainment, of Lifetime Networks.  "Scheduling Army Wives' return for the spring falls in line with our strategy to provide our audience with a steady stream of original programming year-round."

The drama follows a group of families residing on an active army base and is the most successful series (by far) in Lifetime's 25-year history.

Its third season was the highest-rated season yet for the show, which stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico, Katelyn Pippy and Catherine Bell.

Army Wives: Back to the 1940s!

Attention, Army Wives viewers: Are you ready to go retro?

On this Sunday night's episode of the Lifetime hit, the character travel back to the 1940s.

The flashbacks kick off when Lois Smith (who played Sookie's gran on True Blood) regales Roxy and Pamela with stories from her life as an army wife during World War II. All the main characters play parts in the re-telling of this tale.

Watch below, as the series goes back to a segregated South Carolina in 1943. This is a preview for "As Time Goes By."

Michael Nouri to Guest Star on Army Wives

Michael Nouri is quickly becoming one of the best known "that guys" on TV.

He played Summer's father on The OC. He guest-starred as the director of Mossad on NCIS. He appears as Glenn Close's husband on Damages.

Now, Nouri has signed on for final two episodes of the third season of Army Wives. His character, Lt. General Walter Ludwig, will visit Fort Marshall to deliver unexpected news to Claudia Joy's husband, General Michael Holden.

Army Wives Spoilers: Some Lighter Moments

Army Wives star Catherine Bell, who provided fans a revealing look into the future of Frank and Denise last week, is now teasing some lighter moments on the show.

"We have some more humor this year ... We did a bunch of golfing scenes that are high-larious. Roxy, of course, can't hit a ball to save her life, which is funny, because Sally Pressman (below, left) is an amazing golfer," the Army Wives star told E! Online.

"And Denise turned out to be a bit of a shark. It's really funny."

Nothing like a little comic relief to liven things up on the base!

Army Wives Spoilers: Catherine Bell Speaks on Denise's Future

Are Denise and Frank Sherwood really, truly over on Army Wives?

Now that the divorce papers are signed and Denise (Catherine Bell) has found a new gig in stupid Colorado, fans are asking if she and Frank (Terry Serpico) are done.

Moreover, they're wondering if Catherine Bell is leaving the show.

"I'll tell you this," she told E! Online when asked about that specific topic. "I'm still in South Carolina, and I was filming the show this morning."

As for Frank and Denise, their divorce paperwork is done, but a relationship of some form continues, starting this Sunday at the christening of Roland and Joan's baby.

Bell says, "Frank and Denise struggle for a while. It's not over. There are some really wonderful scenes coming. There's going to be more communication about this."

Meaning Denise Sherwood standing up for herself and demanding respect?

"There's some really cool stuff coming up where you see a different side of him and their relationship. There's some positive stuff. He's really a big teddy bear."

"Frank really adores Denise. He's going to change a bit this season," Bell predicts.
