The Big Bang Theory Review: Froot Loops Becomes Clogzilla

at .  Updated at . Comments

Out of context that nickname doesn't seem that bad. In context,  it's very embarrassing.

Poor Howard! He gets some of the worst nicknames. He was an astronaut called Froot Loops! And, now he has to live with Clogzilla at least for a few weeks. Sheldon was right, that's not gonna pass.

That moment when Emily realized how she knew Howard was awkward. The experience at Emily's was probably one of the biggest humiliations of his life. Well, at least, the biggest that didn't involve his mother. I'm sure he has plenty of those. Emily will be a constant reminder of that night.

Despite that, I hope she sticks around. The Raj in this episode was much more self-assured and fun to see.

Despite Howard and Emily's past, it doesn't look like it will affect her relationship with Raj. That's a good thing, since things with Lucy ended. Emily's quirky, but in a good way. She'll fit in nicely with Penny, Bernadette and Amy too. I hope we see her interact with them soon. Just in case she decides to go somewhere....

If you like toilet humor, then The Big Bang Theory Season 7 Episode 20 was your episode. I found them quite humorous, especially the ones that on the surface weren't even related. For example, "They could've filled the bowl a little more." It was funny, but also made me feel a bit bad for Howard.

The other main storyline involved Sheldon's decision to pursue a new field of study. Even though Penny had no idea what he was doing with string theory, her comparison of his field of study to a relationship was an apt one. And, it lead Sheldon to Cosmo for advice. No, not the FOX television space show, Cosmos, but the women's magazine.

He tried a new hair style, but he looked like "sex on a stick," according to Amy so that wouldn't work. The funniest moments came from Sheldon pulling out pop culture references. Maybe he spent too much time reading Cosmo! The Geology book may have been a better option.

Penny: Wait. What's wrong with geology?
Sheldon: Let me put this in a way you'll understand, Penny. You remember how you explained to me that the Kardashians aren't real celebrities? Well, geology is the Kardashians of science.

Amy: Maybe you could make your new field of study the calculation
of nuclear matrix elements.
Sheldon: Oh, please. If I wanted to take up a fad, I'd get a tramp stamp.

A drunk Sheldon called Stephen Hawking on the phone and left many embarrassing messages. At least he ended strong with, "Hey, did you see the LEGO movie?" Though, he's now known as a jackass by Hawking!

Who should be more embarrassed?

I enjoyed the storyline in season 7 where Howard was really there
for Sheldon when he found out his mother started falling in love
back home in Texas after Sheldon caught her doing it in the living room
by peeking through a window but wasn't sure what to do so both Sheldon
and Howard went to a bar soul searching then they both arrived back at
the house but the visit did not go down well after when Sheldon got sent
to his room by his mother for being confrontational then Howard assures
Sheldon in his room about learning to accept that his mother is dating
then later he speaks to his mother with worldly advice to protect herself
well as condemning her for moral standards that was slipping but what
a great episode.

TBBT is slipping a it in the last few weeks. Mainly since it is not airing regularly and we miss the flow of the show. Hopefully it will pick up the beat without toilet humor.

Howard did find out the true meaning of karma - What goes around, comes around and he was Little mean to Raj and his misfortune with girls, but that changed at the restaurant when Emily recognised him - LOL As Always, Sheldon was the best and funniest with his lines - Sheldon was so right when he said "I said Leonard, you said no" when Penny tried to help Sheldon by comparing a bad relationship to his dilemma.
And then that whiny ugly man appeared blowing his nose and asking for his good inhaler - Sheldon saying what Penny said seconds before "break it off, shake hands, walk away", yeah preach it Sheldon. We also had a drunk Sheldon again and that's Always a good thing - His drunk dialing Stephen Hawking was priceless.

Is it me or are the writers failing to bring a decent end to the latest episodes of BBT? The last episode ended with Sheldon unable to decide between getting the XBoxOne or the PS4. This one ended with a question mark too. No matter how great the episode might be, you have to end on a strong note.

@ Douglas Wolfe

Agreed. Need stronger plots.

A really funny episode! Loved it! I thought Howards storyline was really funny. Sheldon was funny too. One of the best this season and every character had the same screentime.

Liked Sheldon's story arc in this one, especially his drunk-dialing Steven Hawking. Did NOT like...OK, HATED....Howard's story line. His cutting remarks to Raj about Emily (before the double-date) were just NASTY (this from a man who couldn't separate from his mother until he was over 30 years old AND had to get married to do it) and the literal toilet humor was just "base." Surely the writers could have done better.

last night was funny. boy did they scare me i thought for sure they were cross the gross line last night but did not

I loved when Sheldon left the message "I kiss girls now".

The Big Bang Theory Season 7 Episode 20 Quotes

Sheldon: Am I wasting my life on a theory that can never be proven?
Howard: Maybe. But how great is Game of Thrones?

Raj: I know. Being an astrophysicist right now is like being a rock star.
Howard: Only without the sex.
Raj: Yeah, literally, none of it.
