J.R. Ramirez is headed back to The CW.

The former Emily Owens M.D. star has landed a recurring role on Arrow Season 3, multiple sources confirm, with the actor set to come on board as DC Comics character Ted “Wildcat” Grant.

The TV version of this character will be a former boxer who runs a gym for underprivileged youth in Starling City.

In comic book lore, Wildcat belongs to the Justice Society of America and trains various crime fighters… including Black Canary.

This leads to speculation that he'll help Laurel became the new Canary.

In addition to his stint as Dr. Aquino on the aforementioned CW drama, Ramirez’s TV resume also include Starz’s Power, House of Payne and Hacienda Heights.

Arrow Quotes

Laurel: Helena, you don't have to do this.
Helena: Yes, I do. Because once you let the darkness inside, it never comes out.

Oliver: I just need your A game right now Felicity.
Felicity: I don't have it! My friend, our friend, was shot with arrows and fell off of a rooftop. Her body is upstairs right above us in a freezer because we don't know what to do with it, with her, so I am so sorry, Oliver, if I have feelings, but maybe if you did, too... I'm sorry. That was mean. But this is Sara we're talking about. Your Sara. How can you stand there being so cold and rational?
Oliver: Because I don't have the luxury of falling to pieces. Everyone is looking to me to handle things, to make the right decisions. Everyone is looking to me to lead. If I grieve, nobody else gets to.
