Jane was in the hospital recovering from her injuries and her miscarriage at the start of Rizzoli & Isles Season 5 Episode 9, prompting Angela to share that she had a miscarriage the year before she had Jane.

But Jane was unable to let work go as she tried to stay involved in the murder of Fran Clarke, a woman found in her basement four years after she was poisoned to death. Even thought her gardner and her work partner found her body, neither one of them decided to report her dead.

Tasha threatened to run away if she were put in a group home after being released from the hospital and Jane scrambled to help. In the end, her nurse decided to become her foster parent.

With Jane recovering at Maura's her friends and family came over with pizzas to help keep her spirits up.
