It's Thanksgiving on Modern Family Season 6 Episode 8 and somehow Claire has put Phil in charge of all of the cooking!
Doesn't make much sense, does it? Yeah, I didn't think so either!
Nothing against Phil's culinary skills, but Claire is a well known control freak. So how did this happen?
Maybe half of Claire felt tired of always being in charge and the other half felt like throwing Phil a bone. Either way, she loosened the reigns about as much as she could. And by that...I mean she had a back up turkey basting in the garage.
No one was surprised, right?
Well, Phil and Luke took actually did pretty well in the kitchen. Phil might've even liked the experience a little too much, getting turned on by the Nigella Lawson cooking instructional.
I listened to her meringue instructions in the car last week. There was so much whipping and beating I had to pull over.

Things would've been perfect if Claire didn't blow a fuse playing with Phil's toys. She and Alex were kind of mocking Phil and Luke, but they don't need to know that. The point is Phil succeeded and I think Claire needs to give him some more credit!
After all, he and Luke were acting the sanest out of the bunch. Everyone gets stressed around the holidays and their kitchen interactions weren't off par at all. We've already touched on Claire and Alex, and Haley was accidentally getting into pervy situations with Manny.
They weren't her fault, but her reactions were definitely a little gross. You may not be blood related but he's still your relative Haley!!! Not every guy needs to have a crush on you. Andy said he didn't and she seemed to have accepted that in Modern Family Season 6 Episode 7.
Mitchell and Cam were dealing with the classic conundrum of raising a daughter, where the closer she gets to puberty the more hell she puts you through. She refused to wear the dress they wanted her to and Lily has gotten quite outspoken over the years!
Then again her parents try to win arguments by putting on Gloria's dresses.
Cam: I just can't believe I slipped into one of Gloria's dresses.
MItchell: Relax it's a maternity poncho.
I was actually laughing so hard from this exchange, I had to rewind it.
Like any people who try to lie to a large, close family, Jay and Gloria got caught in the act. It wasn't surprising, but it was still entertaining to watch.
