Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 2 Review: Bracing the Waves

at .  Updated at .

My heart was broken after the ending of Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 1, so I went into Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 2 preparing for more heartache to befall Bay.

So lets just dive right on in and talk about what happened!

Bay, how could you be so stupid as to tell Tess about what you did? Tess is, of course, going to have a freak out over her "boyfriend" Robbie and she is going to blame everything on you and NOT Robbie who was the one trying to smuggle drugs.

Tess may be a naive young woman, but she did not deserve to be talked down to like that! No wonder Tess is so negative and angry especially if she is always treated with such disregard.

You think I give a rats ass that you have a kid waiting for you back at whatever put you came crawling out of? I don't! I wouldn't think twice about writing you off and getting you locked up like Robbie just so I don't have to look at you anymore.

Officer

Tank's back!! I have always been a huge fan of Tank and I was so happy to see him be a friend to Bay. Though Tank's advice is probably not the best in the world, we all understand he is just trying to help. He is right and Bay does need to stand up for herself to Tess and tell her even though they may not come from the same side of the tracks, they are both there to do the same job and it will be easier if they could just be civil with each other.

So it was great when Bay finally told Tess she didn't owe her anything and she had no right to destroy her phone. Tess may have gone through some tough times and has a long road ahead of her, but it really isn't Bay's fault her boyfriend is a loser and put himself in a bad situation.

Professor Marillo is going to give Daphne a run for her money! Marillo definitely has a lot of rules for her students and yet I can't fault her for being so strict. This is college my dears and having a strict teacher who strives for the best out of her students is the perfect professor (and I speak from experience).

It was also not shocking Josh had a less then stellar experience in Marillo's class when he first took it. Though I didn't understand Daphne being surprised about Josh's negative behavior when he was a student. It was clear to everyone watching the show he may not have had the best time in her class and may have left in a negative way. Tons of red flags were being thrown around Daphne!

Even though I am not Daphne's biggest fan, I still found myself wanting to smack Vimla when she was telling Daphne to be quiet with her signing. Seriously, it wasn't like Daphne was smacking her hands extremely loud the entire time, she did it a couple times for emphasis on her feelings at the end of a sentence. So it just baffled me when Daphne wanted to join the study group with Vimla. We all knew they were going to ditch her, right? Though I completely agree with Josh's opinion on the group.

Josh: Why are you sorry? They should be sorry. What, they can't take the extra three minutes it would take to let us catch up?
Daphne: Josh, I got this.
Josh: You guys are training to be doctor's, right? To heal people would are sick. You guys are douchebags! Did you know that?! Total douchebags!

While I understand where Daphne is coming from with Josh going off on the study group she did not have to be so harsh. Josh and Daphne have very similar personalities and I definitely see these two clashing as the season continues. We got a better understanding of Josh – with deaf parents he was their voice and helped them out most of his life. Thankfully Daphne understands him in the end and he is no longer fired.

Poor Regina can't catch a break! The woman has been through hell with not only her career, but with her kids as well, and than she goes and "taps" into a motorcycle and then she further gets attacked by Juanita. Regina has made some mistakes and she has since owned up to those mistakes and has tried to gain forgiveness, but everyone wants to be so darn stubborn and live in the past. John is right about Regina, she needs to start taking things with a grain of salt.

I was unhappy to see I was correct in thinking the producer was a slimy weasel, but kudos to John for being up front with Kathryn and telling her the truth about what he was after. When Kathryn's face fell my heart just broke for her and I wanted to give her a hug.

Thankfully Enzo was there for his friend Kathryn and put a positive spin on the rejection – create a musical. I have no doubt in my mind this is going to be one amazing musical – I expect to see it by the end of the season!

By episodes end we had Regina finally standing up for herself and offering her services to Eric to get his coffee shop off the ground. Yeah, she may not be liked by East Riverside, but this is the perfect opportunity for her to prove herself. Tess actually stood up for Bay and showed she has some intelligence and Bay's poor heart just keeps breaking. Plus Daphne gets invited by Vimla to rejoin the group thanks to Daphne getting advanced notes – yeah this is not going to end well.

What did you think of "Bracing the Waves"? Do you think it's a good idea for Daphne to rejoin the group? What do you think is going to happen with Bay and Emmett?
