Drea de Matteo Cast on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in "Menacing Role"

Drea de Matteo is about to get her superhero on.

The actress (The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy) has been cast on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the company behind this ABC drama announced today.

The Emmy winner will come on board the series as Karla Faye Gideon, a giifted young woman with a grudge to bear against S.H.I.E.L.D.

Look for her to join forces with Skye’s father, Cal.

“We’re thrilled to have Drea join us as yet another great villain to challenge our cast,” said Executive Producer Jeph Loeb. “We relished the opportunity to work with her in such a menacing role."

With Marvel's Agent Carter currently occupying its timeslot, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on Tuesday, March 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC with new episodes.
