Two much-anticipated hookups and a big win at Mount Weather.

Unlike the City of Light, The 100 Season 2 Episode 14 did not disappoint.

On this week's Round Table, TV Fanatics Lindsay MacDonald, Paul Dailly and Amanda Festa - along with super fan Marko Peki - discuss chemistry, strategy, a little stoichiometry and the very real fear of what's to come in the two-part season finale...

Let's talk about that kiss between Lexa and Clarke. Was it an honest moment or is there some level of strategy at play on either side?

Lindsay: I think we can pretty safely assume that it was an honest moment between two people who genuinely care about each other. The writers and showrunners have confirmed that Clarke is bisexual, so there's no mistaking that.

However, it seems like Lexa's feelings are a lot deeper than Clarke's, especially factoring in that it hasn't been all that long since Clarke killed the boy she loved. Feelings aside, it's too soon for that romance to take off.

Marko: It felt sincere and genuine, but you can't throw the strategy component out of the equation – not with this show. Clarke knows that Lexa’s heart is broken and Clarke could play on that and try to control her. Meanwhile, Lexa isn't naive and could intentionally play the emotion card to manipulate Clarke's decisions.

But even though I have my doubts, these two formed a strong bond over the course of the season and the constant threat of dying pushed them even close together. I'm intrigued to see how this element will affect the war.

Paul: It was an honest moment. It's been building up to it for some time. The two women have been working so closely together and they've created an attraction. Clarke saved Lexa's life, and I think that's probably when Lexa knew she really liked her.

Amanda: I really like how Clarke's sexuality was handled as a non-issue. I don't think the issue at hand here is whether or not she's into Lexa and/or girls in general – I think the issue is more what this particular kiss means. For me, it all comes down to timing. Prior to this kiss, Lexa almost had Octavia killed. I do think Clarke has really grown to care about Lexa, despite their differences. But I don't think she's fully there yet.  

For me, it was reminiscent of her final kiss with Finn. She obviously cared about Finn, but that kiss wasn't about her feelings as much as it was about his. And, as they head into Mount Weather, I think Clarke knows that having Lexa as an ally is essential. As is being able to (hopefully) persuade her to be merciful when it comes to the civilians inside. All that said, I do hope we get to see their relationship develop because I think the two characters have a lot to offer each other long-term.

With the acid fog down, the prisoners at Mount Weather still concealed and the only thing standing between the Grounder army and the Mountain Men a set of doors, was the ending a little too good to be true? Does this make you confident or fearful for what's to come?

Lindsay: There is no such thing as a good day on The 100, so something is absolutely destined to go wrong. We've got two episodes to go, so it's not going to be as easy as marching up to the doors and kicking them in. I expect the Mountain Men will figure out some way to defend themselves, and it won't be good for our heroes.

Marko: It really seems too good to be true, but I'm sure there will be some setbacks along the way. Remember there are Gorillas looming in those woods. I'm sure Cage will come up with a back-up plan.

Paul: I'm fearful for what's to come. I think we are going to lose a lot of our favorites. This is a war after all. The Mountain Men will find a way to stay in the game a little longer, but the final battle will be deadly.

Amanda: It was nice having a victory there, but I agree that on The 100, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I can see something going wrong with their entry plan. After all, early in The 100 Season 2 Episode 14 Clarke was worried about their plan regarding the doors. Foreshadowing, perhaps?

Raven and Wick! A lesson is fluid dynamics AND chemistry. What do we think of this pairing?

Lindsay: "Let's get our stoichiometry on" is now officially the greatest pick up line of all time. The sparks between these two are amazing, and I'm glad we finally got to see it play out.

Raven obviously has some grief she's still working through, but I'm confident that Wick's no-nonsense attitude will make matters less complicated between them. Sadly, I think any and all romance will probably take a backseat during the action packed two-part finale.

Marko: The hook up was hot, their dynamic was on-point and the post-coital awkwardness was perfectly executed. As Lindsay said, Raven has a lot of grief to work through, but Wick seems like a really good guy, and I hope he gives her the security she needs. Overall, I really enjoyed their scenes together and I hope we are getting much more of them in Season 3.

Paul: I love them together. Raven deserves someone that likes her – not anyone else, just her. She still holds a torch for Finn because he was her first love, which is why she was a bit emotional after her romp with Wick. The show needs a new couple to root for.

Amanda: Wick is a great character and a great counterpart for Raven. I think Raven needs someone to challenge her and to call her on her shit. While Raven definitely loved Finn, it was that innocent first love relationship, and from the flashbacks in The 100 Season 2 Episode 8 we see that their relationship wasn't perfect.

They were growing in different directions before Finn sacrificed his freedom to save her life. I do think a lot of Raven's grief has to do with a sense of indebtedness. She owed Finn her life. That said, I think her relationship with Wick is very different, and I hope we get to see way more Wick is Season 3.

What was your reaction to the City of Light revelation and the presence of that drone?

Lindsay: I was a little confused. Were the solar panels actually the City of Light? Is this just a play on words or do we still have an actual city coming? Jason Rothenberg has teased many times that the twist at the end of Season 2 will be similar to the Season 1 White Room cliffhanger, so I think this drone is going to lead to some pretty intense world building.

Marko: Murphy made me laugh so hard during this episode – he has the best lines. The solar panels were quite the surprise and that drone was such a great idea. I assume those City of Light people aren't as welcoming as we initially thought. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

Paul: I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I sure as hell didn't expect a freaking drone. I need to see what happens next!

Amanda: Whether the solar panels are the "City of Light" or the City of Light is actually wherever the drone came from, I really enjoyed the plot twist. I can see a word-of-mouth rumor being spread through the Dead Zone about a "City of Light" because of the actual visible light from the solar panels. Yet, there is so much more beneath the surface. Just another example of how nothing on The 100 is what it seems.

I agree with Marko, Murphy is quickly becoming one of my favorites – something I would have never predicted! And his one-liners are hilarious. Thanks to the writers and Richard Harmon for that! As Lindsay mentions, I think the world building potential is endless, and I absolutely love meeting all of the various groups of survivors.

We all know that The 100 has an uncanny habit of keeping us on our toes. What are you most looking forward to (or dreading) from the two-part season finale beginning with The 100 Season 2 Episode 15?

Lindsay: I'm so scared for Lexa. There's a very real possibility that she will die (since the actress has been cast on The Walking Dead spin-off), so I'm most anxious to see how that plays out.

Marko: I'm dreading to see who is going to die, of course. I know it sounds weird, but truth to be told they did a great job building up the story and the anticipation is killing me. I'm afraid for the lives of a couple of characters including Monty, Jasper, Kane, Abby, Lexa, Indra and Murphy. These will be two intense episodes.

Paul: I hope the finale brings everyone back together. We need to see the Mountain Men's reign of terror come to an end so everyone can live in harmony. I'm not looking forward to the cliffhanger. We don't even know whether the show is kicking off Season 3 in the fall or mid-season. Such a long wait!

Amanda: I am very afraid for Lexa. I would hate to see her leave the show at this point, especially since we are just scraping the surface of her relationship with Clarke. Although, I do think the fact that we are all predicting her death could mean she will live forever! After all, The 100 is well-versed in the misdirect, and the writers tend to have a pretty phenomenal grasp on keeping us expecting one thing and doing the opposite. I am definitely excited, but also a writhing ball of anxiety anticipating this finale!
