Days of Our Lives Recap: Melanie's Long Goodbye

It was a short week in Salem yet Melanie said a long goodbye to family and friends, Theresa felt like she had the upper hand, Will blew off therapy and Eric figured out what Serena’s been hiding.
Melanie headed off to Europe. Believing that Theresa would continue to use Tate and make everyone’s life miserable as long as she was dating Brady, Melanie decided to take herself out of the equation. So after a short stint in Salem, she’s headed back to Europe to visit her mom and lick her wounds.
Was the whole point of bringing Melanie back just to have her solve the mystery of Theresa’s baby? Overall it felt like a waste of the character. I had high hopes that she and Theresa would eventually find common ground and become, dare I say it, friends! But I suppose vying for Brady's affections put an end to that idea.
Instead, Theresa remains Salem’s resident bad girl who has managed to alienate Brady even further, despite sharing a child with him and now Melanie’s gone all together.
Will blew off his first therapy session with Sonny and instead instituted “honesty hour” at home. Oye. Did anyone else want to slap Will when he asked Sonny when he was going to stop throwing his affair with Paul in his face? Maybe that will happen when Will actually takes responsibility for his actions instead of blaming Paul, Sonny, and anyone else he can find in the attempt to make himself look good. I cheered when Sonny called him out in this Days of Our Lives quote…

The worst part about this story is that I’m beginning to lose respect for Sonny for trying to fix things with Will. That only works if both parties want to put in the work and it’s obvious that Will does not.
JJ became even more desperate to win back Paige but I just don’t think that’s possible. How do you go back to a guy who slept with your mom?!? Besides, I kind of like snarky Paige as she sarcastically asked JJ who was better in bed. She’s less boring than regular Paige.
The biggest worry is where this is leading for JJ. He’s already shown to have a self-destructive streak when he’s hurting. With Eve out for revenge on top of losing Paige, things could get even worse for JJ.
Chad turned down Zoe’s advances and he almost had a shy, little boy look on his face when Kate called him out on it. It was kind of cute.
Abigail simply can’t stay away from Chad and their scenes together are hot. I only hope that Abby breaks things off with Ben before she jump into something with Chad and I hope that’s soon! Chad and Abigail smolder with just a look while Ben and Abigail bore me even during their sex scenes.
Eric got a good look at how close Xander and Serena were when he saw a photo of them in bed together. So now Eric is furious about Serena lying to him. I’m just hoping this all ends with Nicole being vindicated and Serena heading out of town for good.
Finally, Xander’s plans began to fall apart as Nicole blew him off and Daniel ratted him out to Uncle Victor. I loved it when Victor called Xander out about pursuing Nicole…
Stay away from her. Was that ambiguous? Require illustrations, flashcards maybe?
