Days of Our Lives Recap: Clyde Attacks Aiden

It was a tough week in Salem. Sonny left Will, Ben tried to manipulate Abigail and Clyde beat the heck out of Aiden.
Did Clyde win? Aiden told him he did. Aiden said he had more important issues to deal with. What the heck could that mean? He also kept his mouth shut and, worse yet, lied to Hope about it all.
That’s what bugged me the most. Hope is a veteran detective. She’s not some damsel in distress who needs Aiden to protect her. If Clyde is threatening her and her daughter, Hope has the right to know. Hope and Aiden could have worked together, along with Rafe, Roman, and John, to take Clyde down. Instead Aiden broke Hope’s trust and I’m afraid this is the beginning of the end for this couple.
On the flip side, Hope told Aiden she would drop the investigation into Clyde. Did she mean it? I doubt it and if she didn’t she’s going to be looking into Clyde all alone which could be even more dangerous.
Could Paige be any more stupid? So, Paige now knows that Kyle is a drug dealer with a gun, a safe full of cash, people who will kill him if he screws up and the DEA on his tail. How many more red flags does she need before she steers clear of the guy.
I kept expecting Paige to tell Daphne that JJ was working undercover. Instead we got what might even be worse. Eve knows the truth. You’d think her focus would be to keep her only daughter away from the actual drug dealer…but this is Eve and her obsessive hatred of JJ and Jennifer knows no bounds.
In more sad news, Sonny left Salem. As much as I believe his marriage to Will is over, I love Sonny and am going to miss him. Will got blindsided when he found out. He begged, he cried, and he used Ari to get Sonny to stay, never realizing that using their little girl would only drive Sonny further away.
As much as Sonny deserves the time to sort out his feelings, I hope he listens to Justin's advice if for no other reason than I want Sonny back in Salem...
Don't take too much time because by the time you get back the decision may already have been made for you.

Ben once again showed his mean streak by going out of his way to tell Chad he was eloping with Abigail and running off to the west coast. Not that Chad hasn’t gone out of his way to make Ben miserable from time to time but it truly looked as though Chad was in agony. When he found out that Abigail had no intention of leaving Salem but was still marrying Ben, his response was quite sweet...
I'll still be able to see that smile. I'll manage.

I really can’t wait for the day that it all blows up in Ben’s face. I’ve never liked him. Chad and Abigail’s amazing chemistry could make them Days' next super couple if Abigail were only honest about how she feels.
Stefano’s visit with Abigail was much more civilized than I ever expected. I only wish Stefano’s feelings about wanting Chad to be happy were the whole truth and there wasn’t this stupid Irish inheritance story hanging over their heads.
There were a couple of bright spots this week. John decided it was time to win Marlena back and I’m happy she’s making him work for it. But as Rafe pointed out in this Days of Our Lives quote..
Better to go down a rocky road with someone you love than a four lane highway all alone.

Aww.That made me feel so sorry for Rafe. He’s all alone and deserves to finally find love of his own…unfortunately I don’t think he’s going to find that with Hope, as much as I’d like to see that happen.
