Game of Thrones: Has Euron Greyjoy Been Cast?

at .

Internet sources (trusted, smart ones) indicate Danish actor Pilou Asbæk has been cast as Euron Greyjoy, Theon's wicked uncle on Game of Thrones Season 6.

There is, apparently, a lot of story that will come as a result of this casting news, and since we're going to plow forward and theorize on what it is, you might want to cover your eyes if you're not a book reader and don't like spoilers.

You've been warned.

The scenes Asbæk has been filming look like the Kingsmoot, which mean Theon's father, Balon, is dead. In the books, Euron leads the Ironborn and goes after Dany. In fact, he's her biggest threat according to a prophesy by the Red Priest about a dude sporting an eye patch (which covers Euron).

This casting notice also gives the faithful a way to eliminate possibilities for Ian McShane's roles. Right now it looks like he'll either be playing Sam Tarly's dad, Randyll Tarly or Septon Meribald. Either way, McShane is in for an important character.

So, there ya go. Some fun news to tide you over for a while. Are you worried about Dany now?
