The Expanse is growing!
Not only is Syfy renewing the series for a second season to air at the beginning of 2017, but it is increasing the number of episodes from 10 to 13 for the full season.
“The Expanse is firing on all cylinders creatively, building a passionate fan base among viewers and critics alike, and delivering on Syfy’s promise of smart, provocative science fiction entertainment,” said Dave Howe, President, Syfy and Chiller.
The series started out to decent numbers by allowing viewers to choose how they wanted to view the first four installments, whether in the traditional method week by week on television, on VOD, TV Everywhere or digital platforms.
Now you have the time to pick up the series of bestselling books by James S. A. Corey, beginning with Leviathan Wakes, to supplement your enjoyment of the show while you're waiting for the rest of the series to come to life. Not bad for a year's entertainment!
