Quantico Season 1 Episode 13 Review: Clear

I should have known this was coming.

On Quantico Season 1 Episode 13, Natalie and Alex are forced to team up together to get whatever the terrorist asks of them. I was actually enjoying watching them work together.

They had some fun chemistry, and it was nice not having them harboring animosity for the other. They recognized that they were in this together, so instead of fighting or second guessing, they put everything aside and got to work.

I should have known that Natalie wouldn't survive. Her death was shocking, and it proved that this terrorist isn't messing around. This isn't someone that can be easily fooled, and it would have been a huge letdown if it was that easy to get a leg up on him/her.

Natalie's death ramped up the stakes and the severity of the situation that Alex is in.

We're used to seeing Alex beat all the odds. This time, she lost. She lost big time, and her breakdown to Ryan showed that this is taking a toll on her. Alex has needed to break down for awhile now because it makes her human.

A defeated and broken Alex Parrish is someone we haven't seen before, and I'm thankful that we got the chance for a variety of reasons.

Priyanka Chopra was amazing in that scene. Your heart bled for her. Alex has been trapped in this battle for awhile now, and it's worn her down completely. Next week I have a feeling we will be seeing a very different Alex Parrish, maybe even a desperate one.

Total side note – how did no one notice that Natalie had a bomb strapped to her? She wasn't wearing a giant poncho or anything that was baggy, but somehow, the bomb was practically invisible. Is there a line of slimming bomb vests out there?

Let's move on to happier times, shall we?

Quantico was a lot of fun. As hoped, the new NATs helped to spice things up. We've got new people to decide whether or not to trust, and new dynamics to play with. Out of the new NATs, who is your favorite?

The NATs latest test of the week was a great way to get to know these new NATs a little bit better.

We had mixed teams, and it was entertaining watching everyone profile everyone else. My favorite scene was probably all the NATs at the bar sharing who they are going to go after and why. I'm enjoying the camaraderie and competition.

We had that at the beginning of the season before all of our NATs became friends. I love all the friendships that our NATs have made, but it's just nice to have that edge back at Quantico that comes from not everyone being friends.

Alex and Drew are starting to look like Quantico's next it couple. Tell me I'm not the only one who sees it. They have good chemistry, and they are fun to watch.

Of course, Drew is tied to the Chicago screw up that Liam and Ryan were a part of. I can't tell if I like this twist or not. Liam, to me, is better just as the instructor. I don't enjoy his slightly creepy scenes with Alex, and I'm over his own little brand of drama. Are you excited about Drew's connection to the Chicago debacle or no?

Is anyone surprised that Samar wasn't really kidnapped? Let's move on already! The tiny, tiny, bright side is that Shelby appears to be on the war path. If we can see her get angry and take down this entire con ring, then maybe some of this will have been worth it. Do you care about this storyline at all?

What did you think of the episode? Is anyone else disappointed that Raina is so terrible at hiding things? Leave your thoughts in a comment below.
