Game of Thrones Season 7: Delayed, Episode Order Confirmed

We'll be waiting a little longer than normal for the next season of Game of Thrones.

The fantasy drama has been delayed in order to accommodate production delays

Cersei on the Finale - Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 10

“Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” said HBO’s president of production, Casey Bloys, in a statement.

“Instead of the show’s traditional spring debut, we’re moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule.”

It does make perfect sense for the look of the show, but it also means that the show won't be able to compete in next year's Emmys race.

If you recall, the drama garnered a mammoth 24 nominations just last week, and we fully expect it to win a good portion of them.

It also shows the pull that the powers that be behind the show have with the network. Game of Thrones Season 6 recently wrapped with 8.9 million viewers.

Those figures were the show's highest ever ratings. Could a lengthy hiatus hurt the ratings?

Probably not. If anything, people will probably be binging it like crazy before the launch of Game of Thrones Season 7.

HBO also confirmed the speculation that the episode order would be reduced.

That's right, there will be SEVEN episodes of the show next year.

We don't quite know whether the episodes will be slightly longer to keep fans happy.

Either way, it's going to be an exciting season after the way Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 10 ended.

Daenerys is finally on her way to Westeros and Cersei left a whole lot of death on her path to the throne.

Things are going to get CRAZY!

What do you think about this news?

Will you stick around for the show?
