UnREAL Season 2 Episode 9 Review: Espionage

Who knew UnREAL had the ability to throw almost a million twists into one hour?

On UnREAL Season 2 Episode 9, Rachel realized the error of her ways and decided to ditch Coleman to go back to Quinn. As much as it's a bit convenient she came to this decision after Coleman lost all of his power on the set of Everlasting, I do think it all stemmed from learning Quinn really does have her best interests at heart.

The Ideal Contestants - UnREAL

You could say Quinn covered up the shooting on UnREAL Season 2 Episode 7 to protect the integrity of the show, but it's now more obvious than ever Quinn is looking out for her.

Deep down, Quinn knows Rachel had a horrible upbringing with her wicked mother, so it seems like Quinn wants to be a mother figure to Rachel. It's just a shame Rachel's loyalty is constantly up for grabs.

She really needs to put an end to her quest for power. It's done her zero favors this season. If she wanted to succeed in making herself look even crazier, then she's accomplished that goal.

What Coleman said to Rachel about being the only guy who ever liked her or whatever was just plain rude. It proved Coleman's sole purpose is to destroy Quinn and the show, and it's not fair.

Rachel and Quinn's big cover up was needed to prevent the show from going down the drain. Shia was the one to blame. It's not like Rachel or Quinn changed the medication.

Shia crossed a line and really should be doing time for it. She single handedly led Mary to her death and unless Rachel and Quinn come clean about it, it's going to to keep popping back up for them.

Coleman has a whole lot of evidence implicating Quinn in all of it. That's all thanks to Yael for putting him on the path to destruction. Yael has been nothing but an opportunist ever since she showed up on Everlasting.

She has no loyalty. She knew very well Rachel was seeing Coleman, so it was a complete power play on her part to try and get intimate with him.

It's difficult to agree with what Rachel does, but she really went too far when she made Yael poop herself on national television.

Granted, she deserved to have something happen to her, but that's not something that's going to disappear any time soon. It will spread like wildfire over the internet.

Hot Rachel just shit herself on national television. Boom. Drop the mic.

Quinn

It did make for some hilarious scenes, but it's going to ruin that poor young woman's life. She's always going to be known as the woman who pooped on TV.

The ramifications of Rachel's actions didn't really hit me until I saw Yael in hysterics at the conclusion of the hour. If Coleman manages to keep her under his thumb, she's going to be a force to be reckoned with when Rachel and Quinn go after them.

All of the evidence is just too much. There's no logical way Rachel and Quinn can get rid of all of it. He tapped Rachel's phone and made it sound totally easy.

He's sneaky, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he has many more tricks up his sleeve.

Quinn's bad news was heartbreaking. As much as she was skeptical about having children with John, she deserved to have a choice.

The world works in some horrible ways sometimes, and Quinn won't be giving birth to any children of her own for the foreseeable future.

Her decision to call time out on her relationship with John was a tough, but sensible choice. How can she be in love with a guy who will no doubt resent her about not being able to have his children?

"Espionage" was a wild installment of this Lifetime drama. I'm counting down the days already to UnREAL Season 2 Episode 10. Will Everlasting be able to continue on for another season?

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • What the heck is going on with Tiffany and Chet? Chet's treating her like a million bucks in comparison to the way he treated Quinn. Could he really have changed?
  • Chantal upping her game was fantastic. It really proved that Madison is turning into a great producer. Who would have ever thought she would?
  • Is it Jay's undying wish to whine about everything this year? He needs to dial it back. He knows fine well what goes on behind the scenes of the show, so why is he shocked about anything?
