Days of Our Lives Round Table: Chad Gives Thomas Away?!?

at .  Updated at .

Chloe begged Nicole to keep her secret, Theo bounced between Claire and Ciara while Jennifer came up with a plan to hand baby Thomas off to another couple on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Meg from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Jennifer and Chad’s plans for baby Thomas, If Nicole will stay quiet for Chloe, Paul’s future in Salem and more…

What do you think of Jennifer’s plan to give Thomas to Lucas and Adrienne?

Jack: I feel like she just chose people randomly. Lucas is her half-brother but he's not exactly ever been close with Jennifer or Abigail, and this development just made no sense to me. I don't understand why Chad suddenly wants to give up his son either.

Meg: I think Jennifer was completely selfish, however I think Belle’s plan to write up the agreement on her own in order to protect Chad  was the good counter balance. I can’t shake the fact that I think this is what Jen wanted to give her an upper hand down the road, but I think Belle cut down on that possibility by stepping in as she did.

Christine: OMG! She hasn’t even spoken to Lucas or Adrienne about this and neither has Chad! This is insane. Taking temporary custody of someone else’s child, especially an infant, is a huge thing. Only on a soap would this sound like a good idea.

Will Nicole eventually tell Deimos that he is the father of Chloe’s baby?

Jack: I think it'll come out eventually and Deimos will be furious that Nicole lied to him. Since it was so much fun when that happened between Nicole and Eric, the show will probably do it again.

Meg: I actually think that Nicole will stay quiet. I don’t know that she’ll be happy doing it, but she pulled something similar with EJ when she was pregnant, so part of Nicole can understand where Chloe is coming from. I think Deimos will learn the truth from someone unexpected like Dario or Kate.

Christine: Deimos already suspects it’s his kid. This farce is going to blow up on both of them. Then we’ll really see how reformed Deimos is.

Chloe Begs Nicole For Help - Days of Our Lives

Is Philip correct? Should Claire have to pay her dues before getting her big break?

Jack: Yes and no. Yes, in the sense that she needs to develop her talent, and no, in the sense that if Chloe wants to give her a break there's no reason she shouldn't be allowed to take that opportunity.

Meg: I do think Philip is right, at times Claire can be selfish. Her parents wanted the best for her when bring up college, she wouldn’t listen. She’s got a lot to learn, and while Philip doesn’t push her about college I do think his stance is meant to teach Claire the importance lesson that everything takes hard work.

Christine: I don’t think that Chloe is necessarily wrong to give Claire a break by recording one of her songs, but I agree with Philip in that Claire is no where near ready to handle any type of success and the complications that come with it.

Should Paul continue being a P.I. or move on to something else…and if so, what?

Jack: I have no idea what Paul should do but PI work doesn't really fit him. He seemed to be really comfortable in the role of mentoring gay kids before -- why not do something like that as a career?

Meg: I understand what Paul was saying to John, however, I think he should remain a PI. I think his past actually helps to keep anyone from suspecting that he is spying on them, so to speak. I think it helps in his PI work even through Paul feels in interferes.

Christine: I think Paul, John, and Steve working as P.I.’s was a great idea with the potential for lots of fun, and I’m sorry that the show seems to be drifting away from that. I have no clue what they should do with Paul otherwise. At least as a P.I. he can have interaction with several other characters already in Salem.

Would you prefer to see Theo paired with Ciara, Claire, or no one at all?

Jack: Claire. Theo and Claire have good chemistry and she doesn't treat him as expendable like Ciara does. I'd love to see a genuine story of Theo and Claire trying to navigate the challenges his Autism presents in the relationship.

Meg: Right now I think Theo, Claire and Ciara all need to be by themselves. Claire and Ciara are selfish in their own ways. Not thinking about Theo or each other in certain ways. Until that can both learn some respect I think neither should be partnered with Theo, maybe in the future when both mature some that idea can be readdressed.

Christine: Can we just write out all of these kids. More often than not they all make me cringe whenever they have too much screen time. I think Theo is the only watchable character but when he’s constantly paired with Ciara or Claire, I lose interest fast.

Jennifer Grieves for Abigail - Days of Our Lives

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Jack: Where is JJ? Once again all his grief is off-screen, just like it was when Paige died.

Meg: Jennifer’s selfish desire to have Thomas away from Chad. If Chad were truly a danger to his son, that would be one thing. But Jen is creating danger where there is none. She is blaming Chad for things that aren’t his fault, such as Abby’s illness.

Christine: Why does everyone think that Chad can’t be a good single parent simply because he’s grieving or has a job? Thomas just lost his mother. Shouldn’t his father be spending more time with him, not less? Instead he’s going to live with people he doesn’t know at all. I feel horrible for the poor kid.

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from this week on Days of Our Lives?

Jack: I loved Victor saying that if he wanted to take Tate away he would have bought off a judge. Don't let Jennifer overhear that!

Meg: Gabi and Sonny’s scenes were my favorite storyline of this week. The honesty that Sonny had in his statements to Gabi, I felt were more honest than some of what he told Paul. I think Sonny doesn’t know what he wants other than keeping his family, Gabi and Ari included, safe. That seems to be all he can handle, he’s clearly not ready to try a new relationship at this time.

Christine: I liked Chad’s meltdown at the mansion. It felt like a very realistic way for someone in the throes of grief to act. I also like that he admitted it was cathartic and was finally able to find a way to move forward. If only he hadn’t decided to give up his son!
