Ever get that feeling you're running in place? That you've ended up back where you began? Turns out that Grimm Season 6 Episode 11 has an odd case of this.

For all those Grimmsters who have been longing for an episode devoted exclusively to the big arc with the Magic Stick and the weird symbols and everything, they certainly got... something.

Who in the world is making these prophesies, I have to ask?

Much of this episode's action depended on Eve's ludicrously unwise choice to just pop through the mirror-portal on her own in the previous episode.

Obviously, it never occurred to her (nor anyone else, seemingly) that this might simply give old Skullface (er, Zerstörer) what he wants. Playing into his hand, as it were.

Anyway, when Nick traipsed through the mirror after her, it devolved into an unintentional comedy of errors, with both of them running off randomly from the one landmark (the totally-not-Stonehenge) in the hopes of maybe running into Skullface?

I guess it was a good thing Nick still had his gun, because he and Eve would never have found each other if he hadn't used it to kill the cannibal Wesen!

Too bad no one ever bothered to explore the idea of this mirror-realm before now. Then we might actually know why everyone there is a primitive German-speaking psycho cannibal!

That's one of the problems you get when introducing new concepts so near the end of the series; there's no time to ask or answer questions!

Here are some of the Big Questions I still have outstanding regarding this whole plot:

• Who is Zerstörer, and why is he trapped in the mirror-realm?

• Who trapped him there, and who made the prophecy regarding the shaphat?

• What makes any given person (in this case, Diana) a shaphat, anyway? Is it simply Destiny?

• How exactly did Eve get connected to all of this?

• Who are all the humans and Wesen in the mirror-realm, and how did they get there?

• Why are the Wesen forced into permanent woge in the mirror-realm?

With any luck, hopefully the series will answer some or all of these questions before the end.

I did note that Zerstörer addressed Nick as "Decapitare," one of the older names for a Grimm... and not German, either! It's (bad) Latin, and previously was used by the Gelumcaedus in Grimm Season 3 Episode 7, "Cold Blooded."

Curiously enough, he was seemingly the only one there who recognized Nick for what he was. (Please, feel free to correct me if I just missed something!)

Outside the mirror-realm, there wasn't a lot of action, as such, but there was a lot of movement. And it was quite a relief for all the characters to finally give up and put all their cards on the table!

They might not trust each other (for which I hold Renard's ill-conceived Black Claw plotline in large part to blame), but they were willing to set that aside (finally!) for the sake of Diana, if no one else.

I have to say once more that I love listening to Sasha Roiz speak foreign languages. He's of Russian extraction, so I imagine he enjoys getting to speak Russian on screen. (Anyone out there tell how good he is?)

Nick and Eve finally had a long-overdue heart-to-heart, too, which produced an interesting statement on how Eve views the world and her place in it:

I have a strength and a purpose that I never had before. I know you’re here because you loved me once, and you feel responsible for the bad things that’ve happened. But you can’t change any of it. And I can’t change any of it. And if you could, would you really go back to the way things were, just to be happy? “Happy” doesn’t interest me anymore, Nick, it just gets in the way. I know everything that has happened to us, that brought us together, right here, right now, happened for a reason.

It came off as oddly tragic, the way she just accepted everything that happened and that happiness is just a distraction. Though it maybe dashed any remaining hopes of a Nick/Juliette reunion.

While this episode wasn't terrible, it really amounted to a whole lot of exposition that should've already happened and an encounter with a big bad that could've been reached in the first five minutes.

Really, though, the worst disappointment about this episode was the fact that the "To Be Continued" title card didn't have any snarky commentary, as well!

A few final thoughts and notes before I turn the discussion over to you, fellow Grimmsters:

• For those who were wondering, "Zerstörer" translates as "destroyer," a very friendly name if I ever heard one.

• It came as a bit of a surprise, but Nick and Eve actually sourced a few of the best quotes of the episode. Check out our Grimm quotes page for more!

• It would've looked awfully silly if Nick's attempt to use the Magic Stick to reopen the mirror portal had failed.

• Anyone else get a Narnia vibe when Eve first woke up in the mirror-realm?

• Nick made use of some of his longstanding skills, including his super-hearing and seldom-seen but occasionally useful talent for drawing.
