Grimm Season 6 Episode 13 Review: The End

Now we have finally reached the end. Literally.
Grimm Season 6 Episode 13 was actually titled "The End." Fitting enough for a series based on fairy tales.
Given that basis, should anyone actually be surprised at the manner in which the whole Zerstörer problem was resolved?
I figured out fairly quickly that they would almost certainly pull some kind of reset or undo on us. Basically, when they killed Rosalee. Anyone else, they could have gotten away with, but the woman pregnant with triplets?
Not. Gonna. Stick.
The whole plotline with Zerstörer annoyed me from the outset, but as I noted in the review for Grimm Season 6 Episode 12, it was really the stupid choices made by normally-intelligent characters that galled me the most.
This time around, we not only got poor decision-making skills but also some of the most head-scratching moments of deus ex machina I've seen the entire series!
Nick's epic fails of the episode included Diana having to inform him that Zerstörer was tracking the stick and Trubel having to point out that Zerstörer couldn't take the stick from him by force (he would've done so at the precinct).
As for deus ex machina think about it: why did Kelly mère and Aunt Marie pop up when they did? Was there some arcane requirement (e.g., "Nick loses everything he ever loved!") for them to manifest?
We don't know.
Admittedly, I thought it was awesome to have four Grimms team up to take down Zerstörer, but couldn't Nick's dead relatives have shown up before everyone was brutally murdered?
Then they had the gall to inform Nick that the way to defeat Zerstörer was... something he didn't even know was possible at the time (i.e., joining forces with his ghostly mom and aunt).
Kelly Burkhardt: The strength that we need, we all need, comes from our family. It’s where we’ve always found the way and the will to fight.
Marie Kessler: And with *that*, we can defeat any evil.
Gee, thanks, guys. It would probably have helped if someone had, y'know, taken the time to actually teach Nick Grimm-lore instead of leaving him in total ignorance of important little details like this.
(It really was great to have Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Kate Burton reprise their roles as Kelly and Aunt Marie, though. And the final fight really was awesome.)
And after they actually defeated Zerstörer, a portal randomly appeared and helpfully rewound time for Nick, giving him and everyone a happily-ever-after in the end.
While I will freely admit to being a sucker for a happy ending, the mirror portal's appearance had no obvious explanation or rationale other than to make sure there was a happy ending after all.
It was pretty comical, though, when Nick was going around hugging people and being happy they were alive, and then he got to Renard and gave an awkward "Even you!"
The fight scenes themselves were enjoyable overall, except for when Renard went down like a total pansy. (I found this especially irksome because my favorite fight sequence in the whole series involved Renard.)
Renard: I’ll die before I let you have her [Diana].
Zerstörer: I know!

The "20 Years Later" epilogue had a few interesting points and raised some very interesting questions.
One of the lore books was open to the page on Hexenbiests, while the computer displayed a document on Hundjäger. On a side note, I hope Eve paid for the trailer since she burned the last one!
I'm assuming someone finally bothered to teach Diana that killing people who upset you is Not Good.
It's curious that whatever they're going up against required not only her and Kelly, but Nick, Adalind, and the Monrosalee triplets!
They still had the Magic Staff for some reason. Because Magic Staffs of Ultimate Power are cool, and not super-dangerous or anything...?
On a happy note, while it wasn't obvious whether or not Kelly actually had any Grimm powers, he was actually raised with knowledge of the Wesen world (unlike Nick!).
Oh, and Trubel was revealed to be Nick's third cousin (on his mother's side)! Glad that was straightened out.
Adult Kelly [narrating]: “He [Nick] didn’t know what to tell them. But this time, Zerstörer did *not* come through the mirror, anywhere in the world. Because, in the final, epic battle, with the terrible beast from the Other Place, Nick Burkhardt discovered that the only way to defeat such evil was with the strength of his blood: his aunt Marie, his mother Kelly, and Trubel, his third cousin on his mother’s side. The power of our ancestors. And though the people of our world would never know how close they had come to hell on Earth, *we* knew. Because he never turned away from who he was -- a Grimm. And for that reason, the world was changed. Now, some will say it’s just a myth, legend, or fairy tale. But I know it’s true, because my father told me so.”
