The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 22 Review: The Cognition Regeneration

at .  Updated at .

On The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 22 Sheldon tries to expand his mind when he worries it's reached its peak, and Penny is offered a job by her ex-boyfriend, Zack.

Naturally, Leonard isn't thrilled about Penny's job offer.

I continue to struggle with the way Leonard and Penny's relationship is going. While yes, there needs to be conflict at times, I'm exhausted by the fact that that's primarily what we see with these two.

Leonard Gives a Thumbs Up - The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 22

Leonard's concern over Penny wanting to take a job offered by Zack is valid, and the two talk through it without it being a major issue. Actually, the way they handle it is pretty mature.

But wouldn't a better compromise be for Penny to start looking for other jobs if she doesn't like her current one?

It is fun to see Zack again, and the resolution to this whole thing is perfect. Zack's fiancee doesn't want him to hire his ex-girlfriend, so the job is off the table.

Well, go figure.

Somehow, menu sales over pharmaceutical sales didn't same like the greatest choice anyway.

My favorite part of this episode, as is often the case, is Sheldon.

After losing at a video game, he starts to think his brain is no longer at its peak, and he wants to start challenging himself. Who knew Sheldon Cooper was a master baker?

Physicist, baker, lover. What can't I do?

Raj and Sheldon Do Some Baking - The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 22

When learning to make croissants doesn't prove to be enough of a challenge, Sheldon decides, thanks to a suggestion from Amy, to try challenging his motor skills instead.

Too bad juggling and riding a unicycle are both a lot harder than they look!

Sheldon has been more and more willing lately to realize when he's not good at something, and trying to expand himself in new ways like this is another step toward his character growth.

Sure, he's going it because he wants to improve his brain and be a super genius, but in the process, he has to come to terms with the fact that he can't do everything -- something that Amy is also there to help him deal with.

She points out that he often just gives up on things he can't do, and that's something he needs to work on.

That's where Amy is so good for Sheldon. She understands him in a way no one else does, and she knows how to keep him moving forward.

It's also why they are such an enjoyable couple to watch. Unlike Penny and Leonard, for the most part.

Penny and Leonard have their fun moments, and I still like a lot of their dynamic, but the problem is that their storylines are almost too simple, unlike the kinds of things we see happening with Sheldon and Amy.

And while we're talking about couples, Howard and Bernadette continue to be so much fun to watch. Howard may be a dork with his juggling, but he's smart enough to know Bernadette has a dorky side of her own.

Bernadette's doll might end up giving me nightmares, though.

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 22 Quotes

Penny: I didn't know you could drink while you were breastfeeding.
Bernadette: Yeah, they say the yeast in beer helps with milk production.
Amy: I'm pretty sure that's a myth. Let me check.
Bernadette: Ruin it for me, and I'll break this glass over your head.

It's light, it's flakey, it's buttery. You don't need to have sex with him. Just eat one of these!
