SIX Season 2: Olivia Munn Joins as Series Regular!

at .

We don't have to wait too much longer for the return of one of the best shows to debut so far in 2017.

In the meantime, we have some casting news. The testosterone-driven drama is adding someone of the fairer persuasion.

Award-winning actress Olivia Munn (The Predator, X-Men: Apocalypse, The Newsroom) is reporting for duty in season two of the hit History action series, SIX.

Munn plays Gina, a ruthless and smart CIA operative who rose from being a CIA Shooter to a high-level Operations Officer.

If Gina was once in the field, does that mean she might get her shoes dirty by traveling with the SEAL team on location? There's nothing I'd like more than to see a woman get out from behind a computer screen.

Munn was most recently seen in Office Christmas Party alongside Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, and as Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Her upcoming projects including the voice of Koko in The LEGO NINJAGO Movie and starring in Shane Black’s The Predator.

From 2012-2014, Munn starred as Sloan Sabbith on Aaron Sorkin’s HBO drama The Newsroom, winning a prestigious Gracie Award.

In 2006, Munn joined G4 network’s Attack of the Show! as co-host. She later joined the Emmy Award-winning Comedy Central series The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as correspondent in 2010.

As an author, her first book, "Suck It, Wonder Woman: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek" was also released that year and debuted on The New York Times and Los Angeles Times best-sellers lists.

If Munn's character of Gina is as accomplished as the woman portraying her, we're in for one heck of a treat.

SIX begins production on the 10 episode second season this month in Vancouver. The series is inspired by the real missions of Navy SEAL Team Six, the unit best known for killing Osama Bin Laden.

End Game - Six Season 1 Episode 8

SIX depicts the emotional truths of what it means to be in SEAL Team Six, their complex personal lives and the life and death decisions that protect American interests.

SIX Season 1, which premiered on History in January, is currently ad-supported cable’s #1 new original series of 2017 averaging 3.2 million Total Viewers in Live+7, according to Nielsen Media Research.

SIX was created and written by Academy Award Nominee William Broyles and David Broyles, a military special operations veteran.

Stars Barry Sloane, Kyle Schmid, Juan Pablo Raba, Edwin Hodge, Brianne Davis, Nadine Velazquez, Dominic Adams, Jaylen Moore and Lindsley Register will all return for SIX Season 2.

As previously announced, Eric Ladin joins the cast as Trevor, an experienced SEAL who will join the team and disrupt the status quo.
