Lethal Weapon Season 2 Episode 17 Review: The Odd Couple

That happy ending between Molly and Riggs we were all hoping for didn't quite happen on Lethal Weapon Season 2 Episode 17, but at least Trish and Roger are back in their happy place.
That's a huge relief.
What is the world without a united Trish and Roger?
While I love Trish to the ends of the earth and back, I'm actually on Roger's side.
I get that Trish was concerned about Roger's safety, but c'mon, woman! The man deserves to have a little fun in his life. He had every right to be upset at being called grandpa, and it wasn't wrong that he wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't a grandpa at all!
So for Trish to drag this out as long as she has just to prove a point is rather ridiculous. It's been how many episodes now?
However, it did provide us with a way to get back that great Riggs and Roger magic that's been absent for so long. And boy has that been missed!

The Peaches and Cream, and Salsa and Chips of the LAPD has returned full force!
How refreshing to see Riggs not falling back on self-destructive behavior. Living with Roger as long as he's had to would make anyone want to grab a drink, but Riggs has been able to control it.
Ruthie worked some magic on Riggs when she was around, and I like that Riggs has kept his head on straight since then.
I have faith that Riggs and Molly are going to work it out. It's obvious she cares for him and was hurt by his just leaving her and Ben which we agree was stupid on Riggs' part (and made absolutely no sense!)
It was nice to see that Molly got her own business off the ground. Was she doing that before? I can't remember, but what she was cooking sure looked good, didn't it?
It's just too bad that Riggs and Roger ruined it. Trish asked for no shenanigans, but did we really think that was going to happen? They already sabotaged one part of her deal (even if it wasn't their fault) so it wasn't too far off to think that they'd probably cause more problems.
It's Riggs and Murtaugh. Wherever they go, trouble is sure to follow!

And as much as everyone loves those two crazy dudes, no one wants them living with them. Can you imagine Murtaugh living with Avery? I'd actually love to see that — even for just a single night. It would be hilarious.
What wasn't hilarious was Trish shaking down Roger at the station. That was so over the top for her to be screaming like that at the station that it disturbed Bailey's interrogation. It was almost embarrassing.
Avery was wrong when he said Roger was embarrassing himself because Trish had him beat. It was surprising that it didn't even phase her what she was doing, but she was so angry she couldn't see straight.
Part of her anger was at the situation, but I also got the feeling that it had to do with the fact that Roger was not playing into her hands like she wanted. I still give him kudos for standing his ground with her.
It would have been easy for him to give in to her. Living with Riggs wasn't a party for him either, but he wasn't about to let Trish win.
And I loved that he was willing to do whatever was necessary to try to get her the deal even if it did end up that Butler was the bad guy. It just provided another opportunity to prove that he is as good at his job as Trish is at hers, so she needs to stop questioning him! He knows what he is doing!!

So does Riggs. Even though they are truly an "odd couple," Roger and Riggs are great cops and always end up getting to the bottom of a case. Much of it is thanks to Bailey and Bowman, but still.
