Empire will have a lot more Giselle in Season 5.

According to Deadline, the Fox sudser has promoted Nicole Ari Parker to a full-fledged series regular for the new season.

Season 5 will find the character “stepping out of the shadow of her ex in an effort to seize power herself. Along the way she’ll tackle grudges, make unexpected alliances and find a surprising love interest.”

Giselle first appeared on Empire Season 4 in a recurring capacity as one of the many ex-wives of Eddie Barker (Forest Whitaker).

When Empire Season 4 concluded, Giselle and Eddie were in control of the company, but the surprise death of Anika Calhoun is sure to cause some issues between them and the board.

There's no word yet on whether Whitaker will be back for the new episodes, but he is attached to lead the cast of Epix drama, Godfather of Harlem.

However, we're sure Giselle will be able to bring the drama all on her own. In her five episodes, she proved herself to be witty, resourceful and not scared to get caught up in the big feuds.

Empire Season 4 served as a return to form for the series, and there's a good chance the show will continue to pack a punch creatively in Season 5 with Giselle sticking around.

Becky: Yeah, just Tiana can open and then throw it to Devon.
Giselle: Yeah, that works.
Becky: Also, I know we're in crisis right now, but I just want to be honest with you about something.
Giselle: Go ahead.
Becky: OK, so Def Jam offered me a job.
Giselle: Ew.
Becky: And unless the Empire fans come back, I'm gonna be forced to take it.
Giselle: And walk away from all this Black Girl Magic?
