Empire Season 4 gave the series a facelift in the creativity department. Instead of relying on stunt casting to keep viewers, the series has been focusing on the Lyons and those in their inner orbit.

The series has, once again, become appointment TV and that's thanks in large part down to the crazy twists that have been firing on all cylinders.

That said, Empire Season 4 is off 30 percent year-to-year, and is averaging 5.8 million viewers and a 1.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic.
