Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6: NBC Orders More Episodes!

NBC is in it for the long haul with Brooklyn Nine-Nine!

The Peacock Network has announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sixth season will span 18 episodes as opposed to the previously ordered 13.

Yes, that means viewers will spend FIVE more episodes with Brooklyn's 99th precinct, which is a big thing.

The veteran comedy series was put out to pasture by Fox earlier this year, despite rave reviews and a devoted following.

NBC stepped in just one day after the cancellation, and saved the day, reviving the series for Season 6.

"Ever since we sold this show to Fox I've regretted letting it get away, and it's high time it came back to its rightful home," said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment in May.

He added: "We're all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up."

Fox was widely criticised for the move because it appeared that it was getting rid of its live-action comedy roster following the cancellations of The Mick, The Last Man on Earth, Ghosted and LA to Vegas.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 5 ultimately averaged 1.8 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49. It did secure healthy increases in delayed viewing, but it was not enough for Fox to keep it around.

The network was already struggling for space because of the addition of Thursday Night Football, which will delay several shows.

The series stars Andy Samberg, Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti, Andre Braugher, Dirk Blocker, and Joel McKinnon Miller.

What are your thoughts on this news? Are you happier with more episodes, or would you prefer fewer episodes?
