Fear the Walking Dead is staging another crossover with parent series, The Walking Dead.

Austin Amelio, who plays Dwight on the original zombie drama, is heading over to the spin-off, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Dwight was last seen on The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 16 when Daryl kicked him out of Alexandria, even though viewers witnessed his transition from a villain to a good character.

It turns out; the past will always catch up to you ... even during the apocalypse. Dwight was not mentioned during the first half of The Walking Dead Season 9, and we now know why.

Amelio is not the first actor from the main series to transition to the spinoff.

Morgan, played by Lennie James became a series regular on Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 after deciding to make a new life for himself well away from Negan.

Fear the Walking Dead culled a good chunk of its characters, but as it heads into its fifth season, it includes Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carter), Victor (Colman Domingo), John (Garret Dillahunt), Luciana (Danay Garcia), June (Jenna Elfman), Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), Al (Maggie Grace), Sarah (Mo Collins), and Wendell (Daryl Mitchell).

Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 stirred up controversy because it said goodbye to its leading lady, Madison, who was played by Kim Dickens.

Both shows have never been ones to shy away from offing beloved characters, but many viewers were unimpressed when new showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg went for the jugular in an attempt to leave their mark on the series.

While viewers are holding out hope that Madison's passing was a fake-out and that she will pop up down the line, it does not sound like that's part of the long-term plan.

For now, the show will continue to forge a new path, one that deviates from the main series.
