Blood & Treasure is like gold at CBS. 

The adventure drama has scored an early renewal at the network just over one month after its premiere. 

"Blood & Treasure is a fun, escapist adventure with comedic elements filmed in multiple locales around the world that has been a great performer and a wonderful addition to our summer schedule,” said Amy Reisenbach, executive VP current programs at CBS.

"We've heard the story pitch for season two and look forward to seeing all-new exploits from Russia to Southeast Asia next year."

The series focuses on a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure.

As they crisscross the globe hunting their target, they unexpectedly find themselves at the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.

The cast includes Matt Barr, Sofia Pernas, Michael James Shaw, Katia Winter, James Callis, Oded Fehr, Alicia Coppola, and Mark Gagliardi.

Blood & Treasure Season 1 is averaging 5.7 million total viewers an a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 with delayed viewing factored in. 

In live ratings, the most recent episode slipped to a series low of 3.2 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating.

Still, with all metrics factored in, the series is the No. 1 new scripted show on broadcast TV this summer.

The network has revealed that the ratings mark an improvement of 17 percent over the slot's summer 2018 average. 

Not bad at all.

There are six episodes remaining in the current season, and the episodes will air Tuesdays.
