The Code Pulled from CBS Schedule: Is it Canceled?

The Code may not be long for this world. 

CBS has pulled the freshman drama from Monday nights for the next three weeks, likely a sign that the network is not happy with the show's performance. 

More telling is that the show is being replaced by encores of Magnum P.I

It's a bizarre move to replace originals with encores, especially during the summer months. 

While it's disheartening for fans of the show, CBS plans to have The Code back on the air in July, with a return to Mondays eyed.

It wouldn't be out of the ordinary for those plans to change. 

The Dana Delany fronted drama series launched back in April. It got solid sampling out of NCIS on Tuesdays, but it was subsequently moved to Mondays.

The Code Season 1 is averaging 5.1 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating. Those are not terrible numbers, especially during the lower rated summer months. 

It's possible that the network's desire to continue with the series diminished when rumors emerged that it a JAG revival could be hitting the air.

That being said, The Code has been on the bubble ever since it premiered, and CBS opted to delay a decision on its future until after upfronts.

For now, there's hope that CBS will air the remaining episodes, but time will tell. 

The Code's bleak future was revealed mere hours after CBS swung the ax on The Red Line, which had disastrous ratings on Sundays.
