Grey's Anatomy Boss Teases DeLuca's Fate: Is He Going to Jail?!

If there's one thing we know about Grey's Anatomy after all these years on the air, it's that the show will never stop having crazy twists.
Grey's Anatomy Season 15 wrapped with DeLuca behind bars after taking the fall for Meredith, who committed insurance fraud to perform surgery on a young girl.
While the decision ultimately saved the girl's life, Andrew was in jail, and there was a lot of drama swirling around the hospital in the aftermath.

If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you know that the finale confirmed that Meredith planned to turn herself in and come clean.
Now, showrunner Krista Vernoff has teased what could come next.
"We have painted ourselves into a very real corner," Vernoff dished to TV Line.
"It's safe to say [that getting him out of that corner] is going to be complicated."
The showrunner went on to talk about what this turn of events could mean for MerLuca as a couple.
"She already began to [teach him] in her final speech to him, where she told him, 'Look, if we're going to be together, you're going to have to develop some instinct for self-preservation, and you're going to have to trust to stand in my own truth.'"
"That was her teaching him what it is to be with her. And more will be revealed."
The pairing of Meredith and DeLuca was controversial, to say the least, with many fans complaining about it.

However, it seems that despite all the hurdles, there is a very genuine connection between them, and the show seems committed to showing Meredith in love again.
ABC confirmed earlier this year that Grey's Anatomy had been renewed through 2021, but there's no word on whether the 17th season will serve as the show's conclusion.
It still rates very well and remains a draw internationally, so it's entirely possible that the series could continue as long as Ellen Pompeo wants it to.
For now, we have Grey's Anatomy Season 16 to look forward to, and that gets underway Thursday, September 26.
