Betty Draper is the wife to Don and the mother to Sally and Bobby.
She was working as a model when she met Don, and has since given up that career to be a housewife. Betty saw a psychologist during season one due to a case of anxiety; in season two, after learing of Don's affair, Betty had an affair of her own.
Then, on season three, she learned of Don's past as Dick Whitman and left him to supposedly start a life with another man.

Betty is one of my favorite characters on the show. I think her and Don belong together because they're both so complex and fascinating.

I wish she didn't leave Don. It was his lie that cuased him to cheat. And since he confessed, he could have an open and honest relationship with her like he does with Megan.

It's not a surprise that Betty left Don in season 3. Afterall, look at how Don treat her ... I did not see any indication of love in any of the seasons or episodes. He is rough with Betty when Betty confront him with his flings or his secrets. No wonder Betty cheats on Don with another man in season 2 & is attracted to Henry in season 3.
On the other hand, I wish the writer will make Betty grow up in next season ie be more mature. Anyway, Betty is correct when she said that she did not break up the family. Don is not exactly guilt free.
