Dr. Maura Isles

Bio

Dr. Maura Isles is Jane Rizzoli's best friend. Like Jane she was made fun of as a child, and given the nickname "Maura-The-Bore-A". She is still looked at weirdly, and at work she is given the nickname, "The Queen of the Dead". This is because she is a medical examiner and a very bluntly honest person. When Isles was was younger, she was interested in examining dead things such as her mouse after he died; it had always been an interest of hers. She was adopted as a child, and while investigating her half brother's death, she discovers that her biological father was an Irish hitman.
