Pete Campbell works in the accounts department at Sterling Cooper. He lives in a Park Avenue apartment with wife Trudy, whose father is well off. Pete is a graduate of Deerfield Academy prep school and isn't the most secure guy in the world.
His father died in the crash of an American Airlines jetliner.
Early in season one, Pete slept with Peggy. The result was a baby, which Peggy gave away and which Pete learned about on the second season finale.
Roger Sterling: Say nothing. You are here because of Don Draper's largess.
Pete Campbell: Thank you. Thank you so much.
Roger Sterling: Now, I know that your generation went to college instead of serving, so I'll illuminate you. This man is your commanding officer. You live and die in his shadow. Understood?
Pete Campbell: (nods vigorously) I won't let you down, Don.
Roger Sterling: Jesus! Campbell...don't ever say that.

It let's us travel the way a child travels - around and around, and back home again, to a place where we know are loved.Don Draper
