Your understanding as a 'veteran' in another place in time, listening and sharing with the new veteran who has recently come home impacted me. As an LCSW, I work with a lot of vets and especially those with alcohol problems. I shared your wisdom in that episode with a patient as it gave me a better insight into how the Vietnam war vets were treated upon their return. This patient, in turn, allowed me to find the words to talk to my uncle who was a vet. You never know how something can have a rippling effect. Thank you.
