This has just been waiting to happen, there's actually no real point to gossip girl without Blair and Nate.

I'm a huge Chair Fan, and even though it disappoints me to see Blair with Nate its Chuck's response which is going to put the ratings up and make it so much more interesting. And so Chuck and Blair will always love eachother but they can't be together the whole show... how boring would that be.. I love watching them play games.. and that is what i think the writers are trying to put back into their relationship!

Actually S, the show has been on a 5 episode skid regarding ratings. That never happened the first season.
I think Blair and Nate scenes are way overdue. There is so much potential there! I am hoping the writer's write Nate's character better because he and Blair are so adorable together when they are done write. The inconsistencies of last season need to be gone from their relationship. Let's see them grow.
As for Chuck, he's at his best as the player bad boy.
