There would be quite a few plot holes with Juliet actually being Gossip Girl. Although we're totally used to plot holes by now, aren't we (Bartsus Christ anyone?)
When you leave a realtionship because of anything it doesn't matter what it is,its called dumping my friend. Yeah it was sweet of him that he was trying to prove himself but his reason of leaving her was NOT. He cared more about himself than her.Carter was displeased with Serena going behind his back and trying to get his liberty back. All he honorably wanted was make up for his past mistakes, but Serena's quest in transforming him into Rufus Lite would mess up with what he wanted and needed to do. When Carter went to see her, Serena was like "you don't know it but I was plotting your destiny with mah boo and we bought you back, now gimme the dihhh" Basically! And the last interaction we saw before that was at Rufly's failed wedding when Serena told him off. Unless something else happened offscreen, he had the right to be kind of pissed. Serena did the selfish thing instead of just talk it out with Carter, because deep inside she knew he needed to go. But he didn't care less for her than Dan. More is most likely. I'm not willing to start a war but based on your dumping logic, and rightly so, Dan was a lot worse by dumping Serena for the sake of being stalked by Georgina who blackmailed his then girlfriend with some serious stuff. But he is the most understandable and comprehensible boy in this world, right? Exactly. She needed him the most back then but Dan hadn't the balls to be there for her, practically. Let me save the Constance guest star teacher, Serena's psychological damage in Season 5 and stuff for future discussions tbh Back to Scarter, yeah it was such an abrupt and stupid way to end their relationship, plus the plot device usage of him later in Season 3 just sucked and that's when the writers centered discussion may come in. Whatever couple we may ship, they never fail in screwing all over them!
Well, Derena was my OTP back in Season 1 - as much as Chair actually, if not more - and a little bit of Season 2. After that, the endless list of unfortunate twists made this ship pour grossness all over me.
I liked Serena the most when she was with Carter (they should've had upgraded his recurring ass to regular status, oh well). Serenate is a second close though.
Dan should be the villan and have Georgina and Milo's parenting as endgame. I will go down with that!
