A dead girl is found with the trash outside of a Debutante Ball. Danny is having dinner with Nicky when the call comes through and brings her to the scene. She sneaks out of the car and views the dead body.
The dead girl is a 16 year old named Betsy. Her parents thought she was on a ski trip but she snuck into the city to meet her on-line boyfriend. It turns out he was a 30 year old man, not the teenage boy he claimed to be. When she wouldn’t stop screaming he strangled her to death.
Nicky has nightmares about the body and worries she isn’t cut out to be a cop. Frank calms her fears by telling her that she’s a Reagan. She’s strong enough to be a cop if she chooses but she has a long time to decide.
Frank balks when the mayor’s new Deputy Press Secretary, Sue Connors wants him to do interviews for magazines as New York’s hero. They argue. Later Sue comes to apologize for making things personal and Frank agrees that they were both to blame.
Erin pushes her father to consider moving forward in his personal life. Frank says she should do the same.
