The students of Sunnydale High complete a career aptitude test to determine some future employment opportunities.

Dalton, a vampire transcriber, tries to decipher an ancient book with no luck. Before Spike beats him in punishment, Drusilla sees a vision that he need "the key" to break the code.

While on patrol, Buffy sees some vampires stealing items from a crypt.

Angel is waiting for Buffy in her room; she sneaks in through the window. Angel had a bad feeling and wanted to check in on her. He asks her out on a date to a skating rink.

The career tests have arrived. Xander has been chosen as a prison guard, Buffy as a copy, and Willow's test was missing.

Giles indexes the Watcher Diaries. He chastises Buffy for not checking on what the vampires stole from the crypt.

Spike needs Buffy out of the way so that he can cure Drusilla. He plans to call on the Order of Taraka to finish her off once and for all.

At the career fair, a few business individuals bring Willow to a secluded booth. They have deemed her as one of the top candidates for a leading software company. She and Oz are the only two students being interviewed.

Giles and Buffy examine the crypt. The vampires stole something from the Dulac crypt, which was the author of the book the vampire stole a few weeks prior. Giles is worried that something dangerous is  coming.

Two mysterious men arrive in Sunnydale. One of them attacks Buffy's neighbor. A stowaway on a plane beats up one of the baggage handlers.

Buffy bails on research to go on her skating date with Angel. The man with the one eye attacks her, but Angel steps in stop. Buffy uses her ice skates to slice the enemy's throat. The mysterious girl watches them kiss in the distance.

Giles warns Buffy that the man was part of the Order of Taraka. The group is an organization of assassins that will come one after another to kill her until the mission is done.

While the Scoobies panic and search for her, she decides to hide out in Angel's apartment.

Angel does some digging to find out who called the hit on Buffy. The mysteriou girl fights Angel and traps him in a cage.

Giles determines the book from Dulac will restore a weak vampire back to normal. Drusilla is the intended target.

Cordelia and Xander go to Buffy's home to search for her. The mysterious bug man who killed her neighbor shows up with free makeup samples.

The girl who attacked Angel shows up at his apartment and starts fighting Buffy. The two battle it out. She reveals that she is Kendra the Vampire Slayer.
