The episode opened with Fiona and Sam saving Jacob (the guy who posed as Michael to by the burner phone) as some Latino gang members came to kill him.

While waiting for Jacob’s boss to contact him Michael gets wrangled into helping a divorced mother, Denise get her son, Tommy back from her ex-Army husband, John. Michael and Sam spooked the father at his house and he went to a paramilitary (militia) compound being guard by men with some heavy fire power.

Once Michael realized that Zachariah the leader of the militia group was listening in on his cell calls, He and Jesse use that to draw Zachariah and his men out of the compound while Michael, Fiona, Sam, and Jesse went in and retrieved Tommy. 

Michael also managed to get through to John and he helped them escape and checked himself into a hospital to help.
