Open in a snowy forest in 1991, where the search for 11-year-old Henry Deaver is ongoing. Henry suddenly appears in the middle of the ice, and is found by Sheriff Pangborn. 

Dale Lacy kills himself by driving his car off a cliff on his last day of work at Shawshank correctional facility. 

Lacy was the warden, and a new warden has come to replace him. She finds that he's left an entire wing unoccupied for 30 years. 

Guards investigate the unused block, and one guard sees a prisoner down there who was apparently trapped. He's won't speak, and the prison has no record of him. 

The prisoner says Henry Deaver's name. The warden plans to kill the prisoner, so one of the guards calls Deaver. 

Deaver is defending a death row inmate who gets executed twice. When he gets the call, he comes home. Deaver doesn't remember what happened to him while he was gone, but his dad showed up dead while he was missing, and the town blames him for it. 

Molly Strand is buying drugs from a high school kid. When she sees Henry, she hides. 

Deaver goes home. His mother has dementia and doesn't recognize him, but she's sleeping with Pangborn. 

Deaver goes to the jail, but the warden hides the prisoner from him. Deaver finds out that Lacy killed himself where Pangborn found him as a kid. 

Molly has some of Deaver's stuff from when he was a kid. 

The prisoner breaks out of jail. Lacy told the prisoner to ask for Henry Deaver.
