Clarice awakens in a ward of comatose patients to find her legs paralyzed. Marilyn Felker threatens to shut down Clarice's lungs and intubate her. Clarice slowly puts together that Luanne is comatose in a bed there while Marilyn has taken over her identity. Marilyn injects something hallucinogenic into Clarice's IV. Ardelia is worried because Clarice isn't answering her 911 pages. Marilyn calls her boss who tells her to get whatever information she can from Clarice if she wants a way out for her and Luanne. Clarice hallucinates a swarm of moths bursting through the skylight. Ardelia joins the ViCAP team minus Krendler at the office. Krendler has a dinner with his estranged wife Mandy. Next Clarice sees her dead father. Marilyn uses a defibrillator to get Clarice to talk about the reporter. Clarice informs Marilyn that evidence was planted in her house and that she's being set up. Marilyn threatens to kill a comatose patient to get Clarice to talk. Krendler tells Mandy he wants the kids. Both of them are recovering alcoholics. Mandy leaves when he takes Clarke's call. Claire lures in Marilyn and attempts to stab her with the oxygen tube she's been hiding. She fails and Marilyn incapacitates then intubates her. Clarice hallucinates that she's in Buffalo Bill's well. Marilyn removes the tube after Ardelia and Tripathi's visit. Clarice tries to get into Marilyn's head by bringing up her parents' treatment of her while she was sick. Clarice angers her into leaving then tries to crawl to escape. But a man hits her with a phone. The team races back to the facility. Luanne distracts Marilyn. Clarice's paralysis wears off. Clarice injects Luanne to distract Marilyn into saving Luanne. Clarice runs while hallucinating. Ardelia grabs her. Krendler saves Luanne while Marilyn resists arrest. Marilyn injects herself, creating another dead end.
