Kate apologizes to Jeanette for being wrong about the accusation. Kate reveals to Jeanette what happened between her and Martin in the house, but she can't remember Annabelle; she needs to go into the basement.

A flashback shows Martin with a gun; he informs Kate that the police came over. "Annabelle" is a family heirloom gun he had; the gun was the same one his family used to commit suicide. He wants her to live a long life. He stops himself from killing himself, but when he drops the gun, Kate grabs the gun and points it at him. Cruel Summer Season 1 Episode 10 Quotes

Mallory: I saw a woman living freely. Not in a basement. I figured it was Martin Harris’ girlfriend, sister or something.
Kate: You were half right.
Mallory: It didn’t make sense for a missing girl to be in the living room making a call.

There is something I wanna say. To the girl who named me, who could’ve cleared all this up sooner but didn’t. Kate Wallis … I forgive you.
