Recap

Harrison does chores around the house -- chopping wood, feeding the animals, making coffee.

Dexter wonders if therapy is the right thing for Harrison. Deb assures him that he's on the right path. Dexter notices the job application form in Harrison's bag. Harrison comes in and apologizes for his negativity. Dexter asks Harrison about the form -- Harrison asks for his signature. Dexter is reluctant to give him permission, saying truck stops can be unsafe. He says he doesn't get a good feeling from Kurt and refuses to sign. Harrison gets angry and tells Dexter that he didn't go to therapy -- Kurt was the one who encouraged him to be kind. Harrison says he will be taking the job.

Kurt tries to reconstruct Chloe's eye socket with plaster, but he cannot make an accurate replication. Frustrated, he punches her face in.

Angela pulls Dexter over and shows him the printout of his obituary. She tells him to drive directly to the station.

Angela enters the police station, followed by Dexter. Esther, Teddy, and Logan all notice something is up. Esther tells Dexter to apologize, whatever he did.

In her office, Angela confronts Dexter about his lies. He tells her about Rita's murder and Deb's death. He explains that he couldn't go back to investigating homicides. Driving into Hurrican Laura was an escape, but he took his survival as a sign to start anew. Dexter tells Angela how happy he is with his new life. He apologizes for lying.

Angela feels that their whole relationship has been a lie. She also chastises him for abandoning Harrison, saying it's no wonder the boy has issues. Angela tells Dexter that he should be in therapy, not just Harrison. Dexter asks if she is breaking up with him -- she tells him she doesn't want to spend any more time with "Jim." He asks her if she will keep his secret, and she tells him to leave.

As Dexter leaves, Molly enters. Dexter grows suspicious that she could be the one who tipped Angela off about him.

Molly posits to Angela that perhaps Kurt had something to do with Matt's death. Angela tells her it's not a good time. Molly offers to interview Kurt to catch him out in a lie. Angela insists that Molly stay away from Kurt, as she doesn't want him to get spooked.

Kurt arrives at the diner, where he sees a young woman panhandling. He gives her a generous amount of money and introduces himself. She tells him her name is Winnie, and she's trying to get to San Diego. He offers her a ride, which she accepts, as her boyfriend shows up. Her boyfriend tells her that he has secured them a ride to Indianapolis, but they must leave right away. Winnie hugs Kurt, thanks him, and heads off with her boyfriend.

Harrison shows up and gives Kurt his filled-out application form. Kurt asks if Harrison's father is okay with it, to which Harrison replies that he is not. Kurt forges "Jim's" signature and tells Harrison he can start tomorrow. Harrison says he has a wrestling match tomorrow, and Kurt tells him starting the next day will be fine.

Dexter looks up 'Merry Fucking Kill' and listens to the episode about the Bay Harbor Butcher. Molly recounts the Butcher's exploits and notes how Miami Metro believed the killer to be Sgt. James Doakes. Molly questions this theory, as she had done some sleuthing that suggests otherwise, and she believes BHB could still be out there.

At school, Audrey checks in with Harrison and asks if he wants to come over and study chemistry with her. He gets a reminder on his phone about going to therapy, so he asks her for a rain check.

At their session, the therapist, Dr. Morris, asks Dexter what he'd like to get out of therapy. Dexter responds that it's been hard since Harrison arrived, and he'd like to know how to communicate better.

Dr. Morris asks Harrison the same question. Harrison talks about how Hannah told him that his father was dead, and then Hannah died of cancer. Harrison recounts his time in foster care and how he found the letter from his father saying he was alive, which led him to search for Dexter.

Dexter says he wishes things had been different. Dr. Morris urges Dexter to dig a little deeper.

Angela reviews the Matt Caldwell search map. Logan pops in to offer support regarding Jim, which she refuses. She asks if he will help her talk through the Matt Caldwell situation.

Dr. Morris asks about Dexter's past, specifically his childhood. Dexter remains vague, saying his childhood was fine and that he was adopted. The therapist points out that both Harrison and Dexter have abandonment issues. He asks about Dexter's adoptive family. Dexter describes them, glossing over his life and marriage, saying it fell apart. Harrison calls him out, telling Dr. Morris that a serial killer murdered his mother. Dexter asks Harrison if he remembers any of that, but Harrison assures him he does not and only knows what he's heard online.

Dr. Morris asks "Jim" how he's feeling. After a moment, Dexter says he has made his peace. Dr. Morris asks the same thing to Harrison, to which he responds that in the current moment, he feels abandoned.

Logan and Angela talk through the clues from Kurt. Logan insists that Kurt and Matt are good people and that Kurt pushed for the search to keep going. Angela points out that eventually, Kurt told them to stop, just before they were going to search Clark Caves. Angela suggests that Kurt could be hiding Matt's body and insists that they search Clark Caves the next day. Logan has the wrestling match the following day, so Angela enlists Teddy's help.

Dexter makes dinner for himself and Harrison. Harrison takes his plate and goes to eat in his room. Dexter asks him to stay and talk, but Harrison refuses. Dexter calls Logan and asks him to go out for drinks.

At the tavern, Dexter asks Logan for advice on patching things up with Angela. Logan advises him not to go for a rebound and to have a "trust chat" with Angela. Dexter mentions Molly, and Logan tells him they have broken up. Dexter pries about why Molly is still in town. Logan notes that Molly and Angela have been working on something secret together.

Audrey practices guitar in her room. An intruder opens her window. Audrey grabs some nunchucks but drops them when she realizes it's Harrison. He asks if she wants to talk. They sit down together on her bed. Harrison tells her about therapy and about how he feels angry all the time. He confesses that he thinks about hurting everyone.

Audrey tells Harrison about her own feelings of abandonment after being rejected by her biological mother and how grateful she is to have Angela. Audrey and Harrison kiss and begin to undress.

In the morning, Angela enters Audrey's room to find Harrison and Audrey in bed together. She tells Harrison to get dressed and get in her car.

Angela drops Harrison off back at home and tells Dexter to handle it. Dexter chastises Harrison for sneaking off, but Harrison brushes him off. Dexter wonders what to do -- "Deb" assures him just to let Harrison cool down and meanwhile take care of the Molly situation.

At the tavern, Dexter sees Molly and Kurt having lunch together. Dexter says hello, plugs in his phone to charge at the bar, and orders a pastrami on rye. He goes to sit down. He watches them as he eats, then follows them as soon as they leave -- making sure to grab his phone, which he had used to record their conversation.

Dexter listens to the recording as he tails them. On the recording, Molly tells Kurt that she knows Matt wasn't at the Gramercy, and she asks him why he lied about the FaceTime call. Kurt tells her the "truth" -- that Matt showed up at his lodge, drunk, and confessed to shooting the stag. Kurt says Matt is hiding out at his off-the-grid cabin. Kurt offers to take Molly out to the cabin to interview Matt, to which she agrees.

Dexter stops at a distance and watches as Kurt shows Molly into the cabin. Dexter immediately suspects that Kurt is a serial killer and contemplates leaving Molly with Kurt.

Kurt closes the hurricane doors behind him and Molly. Molly starts to get nervous and gets out her pepper spray as Kurt knocks on the door to the hidden suite, calling Matt. Molly also calls out to Matt, but there is no answer.

Suddenly, the hurricane doors open, and Dexter comes down the stairs. He says he wanted figures entering the cabin and wanted to make sure it wasn't prowlers or vandals. Kurt asks what he's doing up here, and Dexter says he was just "blowing off steam." Molly tells Dexter that Matt is hiding out here. Kurt knocks again, but after no answer, tries to get Dexter and Molly to leave.

Dexter opens up the door to the suite and marvels at the build, noting to himself the camera and the door that locks from the outside. He begins to suspect Kurt is behind Angela's missing women. Dexter checks out the ensuite bathroom. Dexter offers Molly a ride back to town. Kurt asks them to keep quiet about Matt. After they leave, Kurt punches a hole in the wall.

Angela and Teddy set about searching the caves. Teddy admits that he is nervous as he has never discovered a dead body. Angela tells him it never gets easy, no matter how many you find.

As Dexter drives Molly back to town, she confesses that she was scared being at the cabin with Kurt and grateful that Dexter showed up. She asks him what he thinks about the whole Kurt/Matt thing, but Dexter plays clueless. Molly asks him not to mention their excursion to Angela, and he agrees. She also tells him that she hopes things work out between him and Angela.

Dexter concludes that Molly is not the one on to him and that Kurt is definitely a serial killer. He gets a notification about Harrison's wrestling match.

Angela and Teddy find a strange pile of rocks and dirt in the cave that looks man-made. They dig through it and find a hollow area on the other side.

Dexter arrives at the wrestling match. He sits with Tess in the back row, and she asks how therapy is going.

Teddy ties Angela to a safety rope, and she heads into the hollow passage. She crawls through. A rat crosses her path, and she keeps going. Finally, she comes to another large cave where she can stand up. Angela looks around and finds an unusual pile of rocks. She starts to move them and discovers a foot. She calls for Teddy.

Kurt arrives at the match. Logan gives Harrison a pep talk, and Kurt gives him some encouragement.

Harrison goes head to head with Jeremy, the Wolf Creek wrestler. Jeremy threatens Harrison. Harrison gets the first points in. Starting the next round on top, Jeremy elbows him in the eye. Logan cries foul, and Dexter tries to get to the floor, but Tess pulls him back, saying parents aren't allowed. Kurt urges Harrison to unleash his anger on Jeremy.

Teddy and Angela pull rocks off the body. It's not Matt -- it's a woman. Angela recognizes her bracelet. It's Iris, her best friend from high school.

Harrison pins Jeremy. When the referee whistles, he keeps Jeremy pinned and breaks his arm. The other wrestlers rush the floor. Logan pulls Harrison away. Kurt hugs Harrison, telling him he's proud. Dexter pulls Kurt off Harrison, and Logan gets between Dexter and Kurt. Logan tells Dexter that he and Harrison need to leave immediately.

Outside the caves, Angela calls Dexter.

Dexter and Harrison head out. Harrison asks Dexter why his father doesn't like Kurt. Dexter's phone rings, but he doesn't answer. He continues to pursue Harrison, asking what Kurt said to him before he broke Jeremy's arm. Dexter's phone keeps ringing. Dexter answers. In tears, Angela says that she needs "Dexter."
